A journey into the exploration of life.

Come with me as I take a headfirst dive into the world of CrossFit, Writing, Endurance, and Adventure.

I look at life as an ongoing project. One that I am continually working on in order to push my own personal limits and expose you to what is possible. Oftentimes in life, we find ourselves falling short and doing only what we need to do to get by. This show is all about talking to people who embrace the Up Before You lifestyle that I've allowed to guide me over the years.

It's not all about waking up early. It's about living life at full speed and going for your goals and ambitions every single day. Life is short and there is simply no time to lose.

#178: Vince Ruiz on Diesel Day, Overcoming Addiction, and Making an Uncommon Difference

On Episode 178 I sit down with Vincent Ruiz. Vince is a friend of mine that I met last year out in Colorado at our first ever Diesel Day event. This year, I had the honor of supporting him through his second Diesel Day event.

Vince served in the military as a paratrooper for 12 years before continuing his education by earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Wilmington University, a Master of Arts in Counseling from Kean University, and he is currently enrolled at Stockton University pursuing a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership. Vince is recognized as a Bush Scholar having completed the 2019 Stand-To Veteran Leadership Program at the George W. Bush Center in Dallas, Texas. Vince is currently a practicing therapist and owner of H-hour LLC. H-hour LLC helps clients to generate self-discovery by creating experiences that challenge beliefs and optimize human behavior.

“H-hour is simply the moment where all of our energies, habits, and practices intersect for the world to witness.”

Vince loves spending time with his wife Mary and their daughter, Ava Lorraine. His hobbies and interests are traveling, skydiving, hiking, coaching CrossFit, ultra-endurance races, and good coffee.

#174: Cronin and Connor Talk August Big Fish Fundraiser

#174: Cronin and Connor Talk August Big Fish Fundraiser

On this episode, Cronin and I talk about our second annual fundraiser coming up in August. This year, things will be a little bit different than the first time around.

First off, we will be doing the fundraiser to benefit the Big Fish Foundation started by Brian Chontosh to connect with veterans and help prevent veteran suicide. I attached a link below to their website if you'd like to learn more! Our fundraising goal is $25,000 this year so we will need all of the help and support that we can get!

Second, this year we will be doing a CrossFit Hero WOD every hour on the hour for 24 hours in pairs. We are hoping to get at least a few other pairs to join us for all 24 hours but we are also encouraging people to stop by whenever they can for however long they can stay. Whether that's for an hour, two hours, or twelve hours, come stop by! We appreciate the support!

Thank you all for listening and for supporting this show and fundraiser!

#173: A New Era- Project Warman

#173: A New Era- Project Warman

    Introducing Project Warman.

A little different than what you're used to from me. Don't worry, Up Before You is a still thing(and I hear they have great coffee). But the name, "Up Before You" was limiting me in who and what I could talk about. The message simply wasn't where I wanted it to be.

Enter Project Warman. This name and idea encompasses everything that I'm about. How? Why you might ask? Because it's literally everything that I'm doing rolled into one. CrossFit, Coaching, Coffee, Writing, Personal Fitness, and Adventures in life all rolled into one podcast show.

Ultimately, this will widen the scope of topics and individuals that I will be able to talk to and about and thus, enhance the experience for you, the listener and fan.

Bottom line is we're back. And we're back better than ever. The only way to go from here is up. So buckle up and enjoy the journey.

One thing is for certain: Things will never be the same.
