The Tension Between Authenticity and Belonging in Diverse Relationships

Drawing from the wisdom of thought leaders like Gabor Mate, we delve into the complex tango of attachment and authenticity that defines our interactions and self-concept.

My own story of emerging from the shadows post-divorce, armed with newfound self-awareness, sets the stage for a candid discussion about the courage to live life on our own terms.

We have an innate need to belong.

And yet, we also have a profound desire to express our individuality.

These are many times at odds but what if they could support each other?

In this episode, I explore small steps you can take to learn who you are, and embrace your authenticity day by day while also delicately balancing your need to fit in, belong and connect.

And of course, we do this through the lens of relationship diversity. Whether you are exploring soloamory, intentional monogamy, open relationships or polyamory, this episode will invite you to go deeper into your own self-exploration.

    Episode 95
The Monogamous Programming in Our World Runs Deep!

Have you ever found yourself questioning the long-held belief that monogamy is the one-size-fits-all solution to love and commitment?

In today's episode, I peel back the mononormative curtain that has shrouded our views on relationships for centuries.

Navigating the tides of traditional relationship expectations, this episode dives into the stigmatization and stereotypes facing those who choose to love differently. We challenge the misleading narrative suggesting that growth is exclusive to monogamy, and instead, we celebrate the personal evolution that occurs across all forms of relationships.

I share insights from my own ongoing journey of unlearning mononormative views, inviting you to reconsider and reshape the way you think about forming deep, lasting bonds. This isn't just about questioning the status quo—it's a call to action for inclusivity and an embrace of the diverse tapestry of human connection.

There’s no one size fits all

I love Carrie’s show. Not only does she have a calming and soothing demeanor radiating from her, but the knowledge and wisdom dropped in every episode is crucial to designing your personalized relationship structure. Thank you Carrie for shedding light on so many areas that are not talked about often enough and how we choose to create our own happy relationships!!

So good and so deep

I just wanted to write and say how much I enjoyed being interviewed by the podcast today. I was able to get deep into topics that I rarely get to explore on other podcasts like fat liberation and how it relates to relationship diversity.
