Recalling Your Happy Memories to Shift Your Current Experience
The Relationship Diversity Podcast celebrates and explores all aspects of relationship structure diversity from soloamory to monogamy to polyamory and everything in between because every relationship is as unique as you are.
Episode #036
Recalling Your Happy Memories to Shift Your Current Experience
In this episode, I explore how to re-wire your brain and subconscious to embrace positive memories from your childhood.
We are wired to focus on the negative and this can keep us continually creating experiences that are unfulfilling and dysfunctional. Societal programming supports this with 24/7 news channels and drama-filled social media.
So how do we begin to change our experience in the world by shifting our thoughts from constant negativity to at least finding a balance between negative and positive thoughts?
We explore this and I give you simple tips to starting a daily “positivity” practice. I don’t advocate “false” positivity - I believe in really looking at what is going on under the surface. At the same time, we can spiral out of control in our negativity which keeps us stuck in old patterns and old stories.
This is part of our courageous healing work.

An Inclusive Podcast!
This podcast has been so helpful. Thank you!
Kim Gross host of Masks Off
I absolutely loved the conversation that Carrie and I had on people-pleasing. I felt completely connected to Carrie and the conversation just flowed. She has such an inviting and compassionate energy. It is clear from the conversations that I have had with her, as she was on Masks Off three times, that she has done so much of her own inner work. Not only is she helping anyone who listens to her podcast about Relationship Diversity, but she is making such an impact on the generations to come. It is so important to look at relationships from a different lens and not be confined into a box. As Carrie always says every relationship is as unique as you are. It was an honor and pleasure to be a guest.
Understanding Diversity
