    Why People File for Divorce

    Why People File for Divorce

Watch this video if you are going through a divorce and want to save your marriage.
People file for divorce for numerous reasons. They lose compatibility with their partner; there is a lack of intimacy, or they no longer feel liked, loved, or understood by their partner. People don’t leave what they have unless they believe what they’re going is better. This is the underlying motive for separation and the real reason why people file for divorce.
Your spouse believes being out of the marriage is better than being in it. That’s something to keep in mind, especially if your spouse wants a divorce and you don’t know what to do. There are many benefits to marriage.
According to research at Marriage Helper, married couples live longer, have better financial stability, better mental health, and live happier lives together than divorced couples. Of course, there are exceptions to this claim, like being married to someone abusive or dependent on drugs, but overall, marriage has its benefits, and marriage is worth it. Learn more about why people file for divorce and apply these tips to save your marriage.
    In this video, we cover:
    -Common reasons for divorce
-How divorce may stem from your spouse’s past
    -How susceptibility leads to vulnerability
    -Suffering adult traumas
-Free resources to stop your divorce
Reconciliation is complex, but understanding the part you played in your marriage offers self-reflection and positive changes in you your spouse will notice over time.
Our couples workshop demonstrates ways to communicate with your spouse, build back intimacy, stop anger, and work together to strengthen your connection. We base our programs on psychology, neuroscience, emotional attraction, and social sciences. From our positive testimonials and success rates, we confidently believe if anything works, this will.

Why Does My Spouse Love Someone Else?

Why Does My Spouse Love Someone Else?

Our culture over the years has changed dramatically. The number of people willing to participate in an affair continues to grow. More men and women are willing to participate in unfaithfulness because the thought is, "This makes us both happy. And even though I know that you're married to someone else, this was meant to be because it makes us feel good at the moment." And when you live in a culture where it's acceptable to be unfaithful to your spouse, the temptation to do so becomes much, much stronger.
Not every single person is like that. But some single people feel so lonely and abandoned that if someone came along, that appears to fulfill their needs, they will choose to engage, even if it isn't healthy to do so. Marriage doesn't solve this problem. Even if a person is married, they might believe at the moment, "This person is just right for me." So it becomes irrelevant that either person is married. And, if the spouse involved in this wants to be involved, they're likely to lie.
    In this episode, we cover:
The three different types of affairs What limerence is and how long it lastsWhy do some people have affairs Free Resources to save your marriage

At Marriage Helper, we believe in helping marriages last a lifetime. Let's face it: nothing is perfect, especially not marriage. Unfortunately, 1 out of 3 marriages fails because couples wait an average of six years before seeking marriage help. We have helped save thousands of marriages, and we believe that if anything works, this will.

How To Forgive A Cheating Wife (or Husband)

Learning that your spouse had an affair is an earth-shattering feeling. It leaves open-ended questions like, "where did we go wrong?" Or "What could I have done differently?" Infidelity happens for numerous reasons, and we all play a part in our marriages. Sometimes cheating happens because of internal traumas, resentment, fading feelings, and more. We believe that forgiveness is a process, so even if you don't feel ready yet to forgive your spouse, we offer advice on slowly climbing the stairway to reconciliation and ultimately making your marriage stronger than before.

If anything works...

I found MH after discovering my spouse was in an affair. The affair lasted over 3 years, but as I applied MH principles my life changed drastically for the good. All of my relationships began to be positively affected and I began to experience great success in my career. Eventually, after standing for 5 years, we reconciled. If anything works, this works. Thank you MH!

Love and limerence

This helped me understand my husbands behavior and he actually did realize that he wasn’t really in love with his AP. We still need help with the affair and I’m not letting him “get away with it “. Your pod casts are life savers for me on days when I’m lost, loved the one with your wife and daughter. So encouraging.
