Rescuer MBS is a podcast dedicated to exploring the issue of stress injuries in first responder communities, with an emphasis on wilderness responders. The Podcast is hosted by Laura McGladrey and Marcel Rodriguez of the Responder Alliance.
Why Rescuer MBS? As rescuers/responders, all of our life safety equipment carries an MBS (Minimum Breaking Strength) rating. Knowing the MBS allows us to know the limits of our equipment and allows us to keep safe. Our goal is to help the most important element of a rescue, the rescuer, learn, strengthen and develop their personal MBS.

Rescuer MBS - S1E05 - Laura McGladrey Interview with Philip Johnson
With over 4 million visitors every year, California's Yosemite National Park is one of the most popular national parks in the country. With that popularity comes a large number of missions for the Yosemite Search and Rescue members.
Laura sat down with Philip Johnson, a Supervisory Law Enforcement Ranger and long-time member of YOSAR to discuss life in the valley, his observations on stress injuries on the team, and some of the things they have been doing to begin to address stress injuries.
Philip Johnson has performed search and rescue for the NPS since 2002. He is currently a Supervisory Law Enforcement Ranger in the Valley District of Yosemite National Park and a senior member on the Yosemite Helicopter Rescue Team. He has participated in over 300 SAR missions to include over 50 helicopter rescues. He is a two time recipient of the Department of Interior Valor Award.

Something is missing
I think that is a good idea to help rescuer deal with their PTS, but the podcast needs more stories of actual rescues, it will help people like me that we are not rescuers to understand in detail what you guys are going through. I think that the life of a rescuer is pretty interesting, yeah there is stress involved, but I can also imagine all the triumphs and amazing stories rescuers have witnessed,
How about once a month just interview a rescuer that went through an amazing rescue, or rescued, it will make the podcast more entertaining, and interesting
