Secret Life
Tell me your secret, I'll tell you mine — true confessions of love, sex, money, relationships, addictions, and hidden taboo topics that are often hilarious, uplifting, and hopeful. Hosted by best-selling author, actress, and coach Brianne Davis, the podcast offers a mix of guest interviews and topic-specific discussions. Every Monday, listeners are invited to join Brianne as she pulls back the curtain and explores the how, what, when, where, and why of various subjects. Some episodes feature guests sharing their own secrets and stories, while in others Brianne takes a deep dive into a specific topic. Whether laughing, crying, or feeling inspired, each episode offers a revealing journey into the human experience. Brianne's best-selling book, Secret Life of a Hollywood Sex & Love Addict, a roman à clef novel based on a decade in recovery (with a dash of creative license), was launched in February 2021. I gave a 4 stars because you have a 15 min show with 5+min of ads. I love your content but why not a full episode?
Take caution / this is trauma-UNinformed
Jul 29
I listened to one episode and was both shocked and instantly turned off by the casual use of the word “r*pe” — Specifically, “flirting is r*ping people of their energy.” You’re a “vampire r*per.” Seriously? It’s highly likely many listeners are actual r*pe survivors (not to mention, all those who allegedly flirt due to trauma… but where’s this research?) Also, as a self proclaimed relationship trauma coach, this should not be a word that’s co-opted to explain anything. This is an insane example of NOT being “trauma informed.” It seriously calls into question the host’s training/credibility and shows gross ignorance to who listens. As with all “coaches,” I really encourage listeners to use critical thinking, seek supporting claims, and mostly, seek out trained professionals for further help. Going through one’s own therapy and clicking through some online courses/certifications does not equate to being qualified to teach trauma healing. Note: I did try listening to other episodes. This host seems to seriously lack empathy, despite having allegedly once struggled herself with these things. It’s also dismissive of trauma and minimizes peoples’ struggles. Again, not trauma informed. It’s mind boggling. When I subscribed, I thought this show was interviews of others peoples’ secrets. If that was once the case, maybe stick with that. I think this host can offer value, but pick an appropriate lane.

Your analysis of Scandoval was really brilliant all around. Good job! I wish more people were seeing these points.
