Fresh Frights: Late Night with the Devil (2023)

In this mini-episode, Emma, one half of the spooky horror hosts (plus the producer), shares first impressions of the newly released horror movie, 'Late Night with the Devil,'.

With co-host Allison away to watch the eclipse in Austin, Texas, Emma discusses the movie's premise, including its setting during a live TV show in the 1970s that goes awry due to a demonic possession. Key actors and their roles are highlighted, along with the film's reception at South by Southwest and its blend of found footage and live-action styles. The review delves deep into the plot, character dynamics, themes of power and sacrifice, and the film's aesthetics, including its authentic 70s look and wardrobe. Despite some criticisms regarding pacing and the use of CGI and AI, Emma recommends watching the film for its strong performances and unique storytelling.
