Too Political
I had to stop listening once they started talking about politics in the Nintendo DS episode. Like why would you even bring that into the conversation? Also they talk about how they find the Sandopolis music offensive in the Sonic 3 episode, like what in the world are you all even talking about?! It’s also shocking how much they get wrong about the actual games, they are constantly saying things that are incorrect. Lastly, they always plug they’re own music which isn’t even that good.
Very listenable, but…
The hosts do a good job of using composer talk sparingly, but it would be nice if they explained what they meant for the non musicians and composers out there, which I suspect is a majority of their listeners; not everyone went to school for composition. Also, very often they haven’t played the games the tracks they are analyzing come from (especially with jrpgs and s-jrpgs) which means they lack valuable context which would add extra interest and depth to the conversation .
