113: Overcoming Obstacles & Defeats, and Allowing Yourself to Take a Break with Dr. Neeta Bhushan
Hey loves! Today I have a special guest: me! 😁
"They're just trying to fit in. They're just trying to belong. That is the mission. That's the mission of this book. How do we actually build resiliency in a way where there's also deep compassion, reverence, and love for the journey that we are on?"
In today’s episode, we talk about:
Embracing joy in the chaos and finding magic in the mess
Navigating hard-hitting setbacks even when so many things went right
Giving yourself permission to slow down to find your balance and alignment
A reminder to listen to your intuition and follow your heart
You’ve probably heard all the buzz the past few months, but if not, I recently launched my newest book, That Sucked. Now What?, and we’ve already sold 10,000+ copies and have over 100 reviews on Amazon. From award after award, to a media tour taking me all over the country, this book has been a smashing success, to say the least!
But with all the amazing things that have happened the past few months, there were some disappointing letdowns, sleepless nights, and if I’m honest with ya love… pure exhaustion.
If you’re a go-getter like me, you probably forget to let yourself have a season of rest and slowness after a season of blazing forward at Mach 10. This is your invitation to breathe, to sit in the suck, and give yourself permission to put the brakes on while you rest.
Join me in this episode as we dive into what a post-global, bestseller book launch looks like and have a brave conversation about letting in a season of recuperation and slowness.

111: Red Light Therapy, Detoxing, and Wellness Biohacking with Lauren Berlingeri
Hey loves! I’m joined by the amazing Lauren Berlingeri today.
"I always have been someone that struggled a lot with fear. It's this mental talk about I'm not good enough, I'm not smart enough, “what happens if I mess up?” kind of thing. And I always find that whenever I come at it from a confident perspective, I'm just going to have fun."
Lauren Berlingeri began her career as a renowned nutritionist and health coach, wellness product developer and host of the popular series Woman vs. Workout. She discovered the power of Infrared technology — specifically Infrared saunas — through these experiences as sweating it out helped her recover from intense exercise challenges while also boosting her mood. Shocked by the effectiveness of this nature-inspired technology and the lack of knowledge surrounding it, she saw an opportunity to bring the biohacking tool to the masses.
Since then, the brand has experienced meteoric success, boiling down to a true revolutionization of the spa business. Embodying the definition of a lean startup, the brand was created first as a location for infrared spas, infusing the experience with moody lighting and sexy branding that drew patrons by the masses to take sweaty selfies. Creating all the initial branding themselves and even acting as models in their first campaigns, the brand exploded, leading the way to at-home sauna systems that thrived during the pandemic.
As a female biohacker and mother of twins, Lauren brings a fresh perspective to a space that has been dominated by male voices from its inception, making it HigherDOSE’s core mission to educate women about their bio-individuality and give them the tools they need to reach their own best selves, with content designed to educate people on how to take control of their own wellness regimens.
There is SO much powerful info in this episode about biohacking and wellness. I know you’ll get as much from it as I did!
In today’s episode, we talk about:
The Benefits of Sun Exposure and Infrared Sauna/Red Light Therapy
Sauna Technology for New Moms and Busy Entrepreneurs
Detoxing for Fertility
Detox Protocols and Sauna Blankets for Women's Health
The Differences Between Men's and Women's Wellness Needs
Relaxation Techniques for Men and Women
Cold Therapy for Female Biohacking
Facial Skincare Hack
Balancing Entrepreneurship and Motherhood
Navigating Difficult Conversations with Business Partners During Pregnancy

Real Talk!
Neeta does a wonderful job getting to the core of the topic, I leave each episode with newfound clarity and curiosity. Thank you!
Divine timing
This podcast found me through divine synchronization. Neeta was a guest on another podcast that was recommended to me. Her story had me “dry heave ugly crying” because I was going through (and still struggling with) my own mental health slump. Feeling of despair and alarm were my new baseline emotion. As a spiritual person, I KNEW this was trauma bubbling to the surface but I needed guidance and a facilitator to just lead me somewhere, anywhere. The Brave Table is that supportive, educational, empathetic and supportive podcast that I was craving. It gave me hope. And when you’re in a grim hole of anxiety and panic, hope is freedom in that moment. I, me, you are not alone in whatever you’re experiencing. This podcast is like a warm hug from a friend where you can happily sob and not even care how you look. This podcast is leading me to freedom.
Great show with great guests!
Neeta does a great job interviewing and keeps a natural flow going throughout the interview. The questions are insightful, the guests are inspiring, and there are tons of valuable takeaways from these conversations! Thanks Neeta!
