Amazing podcast Maura and Danny give practical advice!

The advice is super useful. Little hacks and tricks I can use in my life. The episodes are right to the point and I love listening and learning the new things I can do to improve my health!

The Good and the Bad

I passed this podcast onto my wife to listen to as the two of us have children who are Paleo/Keto. We are also both medical doctors and implement this way of eating into the lives of our patients. I realize that Danny and Maura Vega are by no means doctors, health practcioners and are more than anything social media marketers.

As a professor and doctor at a teaching university, I will write this review from that stance.

What I like:

It's real, coming from parents, who are concerned about health trends around them. They dive into topics that we need to be more open about in our society. They explore areas that are somewhat uncomfortable. I'm assuming they practice this WOE with their children. Their banter is fine; Danny seems to hold it together better than Maura, but that's a personality thing. As far as the practice of mindset, Danny is favorable to listen to, albeit he screams "I'm unaware of what I don't know." A for effort.

Areas for Improvement:

-Danny and Maura need to stay in their lane for what they know. They err on the side of medical advice; I actually found them from a patient of mine who was working with Danny and was given some medical advice from him about his heart medication. It was potentially dangerous. Advice, perception and knowledge of a specific person's health/medications are NOT the same. (This is going on more and more with the internet. You should see what do-it-yourself health programs people come to me with). Be very careful. I am not a fan of some of what they push. They really lack research. I'm thinking they go for the quick buck for sponsorships. If that's how the game is played, I understand, but if you're going to knock the food industry, Pharma, don't become a version of them. There's a lot of gray area here. I'd suggest this podcast to an audience who is less impressionable. A lot of what they say is great, the other half is just ok...and so many parts to the overall health puzzle are missing. Which is what got us here in the first place.

For any medical professionals who have time/take time to listen to these podcasts - we need to do our diligence to convey accurate information. For the good or not so good of things, the Medical Board is watching. They are weeding out medical and non-medical professionals who are giving "medical advice."
