Episode 95 - A Deeper Discussion Around Nutrition With Jenn Trepeck

Episode 95 - A Deeper Discussion Around Nutrition With Jenn Trepeck

We are joined this week by Jenn Trepeck as we dive deep into the myths and misconceptions surrounding health metrics and nutritional guidelines. We begin by debunking the Body Mass Index (BMI), highlight the historical context of nutrition guidelines, and reveal how the traditional food pyramid and dietary labels are rooted more in economic interests than in scientific nutrition. We challenge the notion of a one-size-fits-all approach to health, emphasizing the importance of intuitive eating and listening to one's body signals instead.
Listeners are encouraged to rethink their relationship with food and exercise, moving away from restrictive diets and embracing a more balanced, holistic approach. The episode underscores the impact of societal pressures on health perceptions and advocates for a shift towards prioritizing mental and physical well-being over arbitrary metrics.
Tune in to this episode for eye-opening insights and practical tips on navigating the complexities of modern health and wellness with authenticity and empowerment.

Beliefs

I think the Beliefs episode was really insightful and something we all should re-evaluate in our lives from time to time. These episodes are short, uplifting and motivational.

This was an awesome challenge

I have enjoyed WeShape during this challenge. I learned many things over the course of the challenge including small steps can have a big impact, loving yourself is more important than loving how your body looks, and community can have a big impact. Thank you so much for this podcase and the WeShape community!!

Beliefs show

Good show to challenge all about their beliefs and are they legitimate regarding how one looks at themselves. Interesting to think if they are your real beliefs or did someone “give” them to you and you just accepted them. The discussion on the ability to develop new and better beliefs for yourself was very thorough provoking.
