    Ep 48 The steps for "tapping" into the subconscious

    Have you heard of the idea to choose the thoughts you want to think?   Well that is so true!  But sometimes, we can't always see the thoughts in order to change them. 

    Tapping is a powerful tool that helps to calm the body and get into the subconscious thoughts and beliefs.   Our thoughts are like an iceberg: majority of what we think is below the surface where we can't see them.  What we do see is just the tip of the iceberg.  EFT - tapping goes below the surface into the subconscious mind to clear out things that we may be thinking and to reprogram them into more productive and helpful ways of thinking about ourselves and the world around us.   

    No, it's not brainwashing.  

    Our subconscious controls majority of our emotions and feelings.  By tuning into the doubts, worry, fears, and grievances that come up in our daily lives, we target the subconscious thought controlling that emotion.

    We've all experienced the inner meltdown where we might be having just a "very bad, no good day".   Books have referred to this part of us as "The outer child" or the saboteur.    Sometimes, it could be the inner child just asking for a moment of time to reflect and be still. 

    And there might be times when we can't sit down -- we have social activities or work to attend to. So how do we stay present with life when our insides are feeling in turmoil? 



    Listen to this episode to learn more about the inner meltdown and how to stay present with ourselves.  You'll also hear my personal story of burnout and how I learned this lesson through expressing burnout in front of my cohort of graduate students when I was learning about Marriage and Family Therapy.

    What matters most to you?   In this episode, we explore core values and why it's important to know what they are for you.   Core values play a part in how you respond and interact with the world around you.  They influence your relationships, work, and play. 

    I share a list of core values in this episode.  You can also find great resources online to explore your values more.  If you want to take it a step further and introduce tapping with your exploration, I have a course to give you the foundations of tapping to apply it into your life with confidence (see the link below). 

    Core values is a way to bring a deeper understanding to yourself.  As you note your core values, you can begin to see more clearly what's important to you and to assert yourself in that knowing.

    This episode, I share about the loss of my dog, Ruby Jane, from this Earth and how I've been riding the waves of grief for the month.  It also delves into how we all ride many waves and it can be uncomfortable at times.  However uncomfortable it feels, let's explore how we can become comfortable in that discomfort, while the wave is happening.
