    Our society does two things that get us into a lot of trouble
    It teaches us that we should be happy all the time.It concentrates things that release dopamine and sills our environments with them.
    When we abuse our dopamine system, the mechanism designed to motivate us, it throws us completely out of wack and ends up creating a lot more harm than good.
    Taking a dopamine detox isn't just about stopping the quick hits, it's about understanding why it is beneficial to not constantly consume artificial dopamie hits in the first place.

Get to the root cause, scrap willpower

Think about your future.

Who do you want to be?

What lifestyle do you want to have?

Does the highest version of yourself hold a blueberry fruity vape?

I’ve realized that I was just self-medicating mainly due to my stressful job but realized I need a lifestyle change and need to start dealing with my emotions instead of band-aiding with something that doesn’t help my anxiety but makes it worse.

Take full ownership of your life and the addiction and try and understand the reasons why you are doing it.

Day 4 of sobriety

Andrew’s podcast got me through my first day sober from nicotine. I was a mindless vaper. No self-awareness whatsoever surrounding when I was craving a hit. Since quitting and listening to this podcast daily, I have found I am more cognitively aware of when a craving creeps in. After eating, while driving, at work. I think when he hit us with the line, “what do you view your ideal life being like?” …”now are you holding a vape in that ideal life?” It hit me. He puts into perspective how this is a mindset shift, not something forceful like will-power. I really admire his gentle approach with not using scare tactics, although i sometimes need to be scared straight lol. He overall has a very professional way of articulating how reprogramming the mind to not desire a substance and fix the emotional processing system we have been numbing through vaping is the key ! Thank you Andrew !
