160: How to Choose Your New Business Idea - with Kat McLead

Kat McLead is the creator of the Stay at Home Mom Entrepreneur: the proven framework for creating a highly profitable business that you love while working 2 hours a day.

She started her first multiple 6-figure business 20 years ago and hasn’t slowed down since — not even after having her son. A fun fact: That business’s profits meant that she had way more money than her husband when they first got married, and was able to pay the entire $450,000 down payment on their home. Not that he minded!

So, if you're thinking about starting a business or you've already launched one, but it's not doing as well as you'd like, you don't want to miss this episode!
Episode Highlights: Kat’s four steps to coming up with your business idea. Kat’s take on purpose vs. profit. Why you should focus on the skills you already have rather than trying to start a business that requires you to learn a new one.

So good, like talking to a biz bestie

Really relate to her style of biz advice. And how protective she is over her audience. Just binged a few episodes and I'm hooked. Keep it going :)

Jenn Murray ,

Straightforward, no-nonsense awesomeness!

I'm not a huge podcast consumer, but just listening to a handful of April's episodes made me a fan! She's funny, gets straight to the point, and provides a ton of practical and actionable value. Things I really appreciate! She also hits on a variety of topics. So if you're looking for an all-encompassing, "just give me the goods, already!" podcast on entrepreneurship, I highly recommend the SweetLife. It won't disappoint!

Actionable advice delivered with personality

Love this podcast for its practical and actionable advice. Also find April to be more personable than some others delivering similar content. I can relate to her mom/entrepreneur sensibility and reminders on the real reasons we work so hard to build our businesses. Especially finding value in her series in paid Facebook/Instagram strategies. Grateful I found this podcast!
