We Came to the Forest

Man, I’m a blue, left, activist, and this was a really hard listen. The people looking for sympathy or understanding sound ridiculous. By episode 4 I started wondering if it was satire created by an alt right crowd.

At the very existence of this podcast and forget that their freedom to have constitution encrusted founding father’s wet dreams were made possible by struggle and resistance.

Binged all day, what we all need to be reminded of right now.

Basically a bunch of shiftless kids find that they can both squat in a park and pat themselves on the back by “protesting” (read trash public park and get higher than the Empire State Building). The Cop City is objectively a disturbing proposition that conjures images of Stalinist Russia but this story just follows some gutter punk tankie wanna bes who get themselves hurt and effect no real change. The interviews drip with victim fetishization and the kind of angst a school shooter has. Like I said, decent background noise but that’s it.
