Yoga for pregnancy with Alessia Frisina Warrior One Yoga

    • Health & Fitness

Today Nova is joined by Alessia Frisina, one of our beautiful teachers at Warrior One Melbourne, to share a conversation on the topic of yoga and pregnancy.

Strength, flexibility and overall wellbeing are so important during pregnancy, and equally important to the physical benefits are the mental, emotional and spiritual benefits of yoga. Alessia shares her perspective on the benefits of yoga during pregnancy, particularly the opportunity for self inquiry and introspection on the mat.

As a mother of two children, Alessia shares openly about her personal experience during pregnancy and labour, and how her approach to yoga impacted her birthing and postpartum experiences, which were both wildly different.

Time on the mat is a beautiful opportunity to ask questions and be honest about any worries or fears we might have. Alessia talks about focusing your breath into those areas and how her personal practice since motherhood has now shifted to invite a more feminine flow.

Alessia also shares some practical tips to help prepare for birth through the practice of yoga, including rituals such as a short asana practise, music, baths and mantras.
