Personal Takeaways from You Are The Brand LIVE

Personal Takeaways from You Are The Brand LIVE

Now that You Are The Brand Live is over and I’ve had time to reflect, I wanted to unpack some of my thoughts. Sometimes we finish a big project and immediately move on to the next one which can make us miss out on the lessons we gleaned from the experience. I believe that how you leave one season is how you enter the next. I kept a note on my phone with four questions so I can take stock of where I am right now before moving on. In this episode, I share the four things I’ve reflected on following the event.
What I felt could’ve been better for the event overall What went well for the event overall What was personally meaningful to me about the event How I emotionally felt in the aftermath of the event I also answer some “post-game review” questions provided by coach and speaker, Lauren Johnson.
If you are interested in accessing the recordings from the event, we will have them for sale on youarethebrandlive.com sometime in the next few weeks.

Came for the Advice, Stayed for the Inspiration

I found Mike when he guest starred on the Psychology of Copywriting and what struck me was his deep conviction that as a person who wants to show up in the world and help others, you have to put the work into yourself. Your business, your brand, you are all things that take love, support, and sometimes a good kicking in the butt. Mike is genuine, authentic, and clearly has made some deep connections with those whose paths he has crossed because his guests adore him. While I’ve gotten practical advice on my industry (copywriting/marketing), I find myself moved by the inspiring stories him and his guests share. Thank you for showing up the way you do!

Hoping For More

This podcast has been in my library for years. I have been a listener since the beginning of the show. I will say, however, that this podcast has changed…. And in my opinion not for the better. Don’t get me wrong reader, I believe the host is great, in many ways. But the problem with “success” (however we want to define it) and money…. is that it changes people in ways that slowly disconnect them from who they really are. And for me (as a listener) when that happens, I become disconnected from the content and the value it used to bring, becomes stale.

“No newbies or scrubs here.” ?? You can take my feedback and feel angry or let it trigger pain, but you also have a choice to let it be a gift and offer insight that very few people in this space have. I want to hear from the newbies, and those in the ‘scrubs’ - let’s just say those who are saving lives (even by a smile) and those who wake up every morning knowing they make nothing from their hard work each and every day, who struggle to put food on the table for their families. I don’t want to hear from the “elite” or “influencer” or those who think they are gods on this planet. This world is in for a major awakening! I rate this a 5, because I believe that the humility this show used to have, is still in there. I rate this a 5 because I believe in the host... However, I am unsubscribing and will hope for a better world- more than ever before.

Used to be amazing

This used to be my favorite podcast. The new short format is terrible. 3-5 minutes of ideas with no value added beyond the generality of the words. I know you can do better Mr. Kim.
