I believe in many things, we all do. One thing i am very passionate about is the saying “everything happens for a reason”. That saying has really spoken to me through many many stories, some of my own. The story I have chosen is this whole year, 2020. Now I know, “how are you going to tell a story that hasn’t even finished”. Well I have already learned so much from this year, and it’s not even done.

With a global pandemic going around one of the things I learned was not to take things for granted. With some members of my family catching the virus. I believe that, that was God’s way of tell

Imagery is an amazing way for authors to connect with their readers. Imagery to the reader gives them a “mind movie”.As you read the author's description you slowly can start to imagine you are in the book. Feeling, hearing, seeing and touching what the author is describing. The author of To kill a Mockingbird (Harper Lee),uses imagery to help connect with the readers.

You can see Lee using imagery in TKAM(To Kill a Mockingbird), “A few graves in the cemetery were marked with brightly colored glass and broken Coca-Cola bottles.” (Lee 157).“It was a happy cemetery. The warm bittersweet smell..” (Lee 157). Here you can see the character describing what they see and smell walking through a cemetery. While reading you can imagine the graves, the colored glass and the broken Coca-Cola bottles scattered around, along with the bittersweet smell.

When an author uses imagery they are giving the reader an image of the scenery by using very descriptive words. It is important to use imagery to not only show the reader the setting but to keep the reader engaged. To connect with the reader, letting the reader use their imagination.

I Believe Everything Happens for a Reason

I believe in many things, we all do. One thing i am very passionate about is the saying “everything happens for a reason”. That saying has really spoken to me through many many stories, some of my own. The story I have chosen is this whole year, 2020. Now I know, “how are you going to tell a story that hasn’t even finished”. Well I have already learned so much from this year, and it’s not even done.

With a global pandemic going around one of the things I learned was not to take things for granted. With some members of my family catching the virus. I believe that, that was God’s way of telling me to not take them for granted as well. Even if it is as simple as just a conversation. And I also believe that God gave me another chance, while they are all recovered and now I spend the most time with them as ever.

Another lesson I got was that to take things seriously, to be less reckless. Because in all honesty, at the beginning of this pandemic going around. I wasn’t taking it seriously, I thought it was just a big joke and didn’t apply to me. Now I think differently and am way more careful. Although I wish it didn’t have to go as far as having to see family members sick to open my eyes and realize what was going on.

It did and I truly believe that It happened for a reason.

Along with learning to be less reckless and more responsible. I learned not to take things for granted. To appreciate the little things, whether it be as small as being able to leave the house without the worry of catching the virus. During this year we had to give a lot up. For me I know I had to give up my  end of 8th grade year, My 14th birthday had to be celebrated at home, most of my softball season, And my beginning of freshman year. Along with many more and more to come.

As sad as the circumstances are, I am beyond thankful for having all my loved ones still with me. And pray it stays that way, I pray for others families and households that had to deal with the loss of loved ones, the businesses who had to close down, so I pray for everyone.

I continue my days with the mentality and trust in God. “he wouldn’t put anyone through something he thinks they wouldn’t be able to handle”.

This has always been my way of thinking and will always continue to be. Because it fits well with my strong belief as I have said before. Everything happens for a reason.
