Girlscamp
I’ve left the Mormon church but, damn it, I just can’t seem to leave the church alone. Whether you’re navigating leaving a high-demand religion too or simply find yourself fascinated by religion (and where it can go off the rails), pull up a camp chair. I share my post-Mormon perspective on the quirkiness of church culture and the compelling journey of faith deconstruction. I’ll be reading and reacting to crazy religion story submissions, doing long-form interviews and deep diving into church-related culture and current events. All with a lot of honesty, heart and humor- because that's what Girlscamp is all about.

Found My People

Found this podcast through Haley's TikTok and it's been amazing to have content that I can relate so much to. Born and raised UT Mormon but I haven't been active for about 8 years. I've just recently started to come out of what I call my "denial" stage or "Switzerland" mindset. So I have a lot of things to work through regarding the church and this podcast has provided a sense of community and understanding I didn't know I needed. It's nice to know I'm not alone in the things I experienced. Love Haley and her bravery!

I’m a new follower of your pod and really enjoyed the Mormonism 101 episode. I’m not Mormon, but have been intrigued by the culture for years. My interest was spurred after reading Under the Banner of Heaven (tho I understand that the LDS church doesn’t condone polygamy in modern time). I’d love to hear more about the wealth and holdings of the church. Boggled my mind to learn that the church is the biggest owner of farmland in my home state of Illinois!
The only girls camp I can get behind

I’ve spent the last week-ish listening to every episode of Girlscamp, and after finally catching up today, I can truly say it’s one of my favorite (if not THE favorite) podcasts! Hayley does such an amazing job hosting, interviewing, explaining, telling stories, listening - all the things! I was born into the Mormon church, and I’ve spent at least the last decade (I’m 27) feeling very at odds with the church - especially the last few years, where I haven’t even wanted to call myself a member of it. This podcast has helped me to feel less alone in that, and there have seriously been a few mind blowing moments of hearing Hayley and her guests vocalize exactly what I had felt or experienced. It’s also helped me process and understand a lot about why I feel the way I do about certain aspects/teachings of the Mormon church. Hayley, keep doing what you’re doing! It’s helping so many people and I hope you know how appreciated it is! <3
