Rogue One by Theme: Hate, Trust, & Redemption
With Andor right around the corner, Caitlin and Charlotte revisit 2016’s ROGUE ONE and talk about it through the lens of 3 different themes: Hate, Trust, and Redemption. In part one, we talk about hate, self-loathing, and righteous hatred. In part two, we talk about how trust has a domino-effect throughout the film and ultimately serves as the glue. Finally, in part three, we talk about how ROGUE ONE is a redemption story. All this and more on Skytalkers.

Lawrence Kasdan, Phil Tippett, Dennis Muren, and Janet Lewin (ILM, Light & Magic) Interviews
We attended a couple of incredible roundtable interviews for LIGHT & MAGIC, Lawrence Kasdan’s 6-part documentary series about Industrial Light & Magic. We couldn’t recommend the series more. We spoke to Lawrence Kasdan (!!!!), the director of LIGHT & MAGIC, writer of THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, RETURN OF THE JEDI, THE FORCE AWAKENS, SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, and so much more. Then, we talked to special effects masters Phil Tippett and Dennis Muren about the changing industry and their friendship. Finally, we spoke with Janet Lewin, the Senior Vice President and General Manager of ILM today about the Volume, the sequel trilogy and Rogue One, and more.
THANK YOU to Lucasfilm and Disney+ for this incredible opportunity and thanks to our fellow outlets for asking incredible questions, including Fangirls Going Rogue, Coffee with Kenobi, Jedi News, Skywalking Through Neverland, LaughingPlace, Ecron Fantastique, Frogi, CHIPPO, MoviePlayer, and more.

Essays on Carrie: Part 3 “Harvesting the Celebrity Interface”
In part 3 of our series covering the anthology “Our Blessed Rebel Queen”, we look at Andrew Kemp-Wilcox’s essay, “Harvesting the Celebrity Interface: Carrie Fisher, Virtual Performance, and Software Stars”. The essay covers the topics of digital performance, online persona, the concept of the “software celebrity”, and consumerism. We continue analyzing our relationship to Princess Leia and Carrie Fisher: How we have been consumers of her image and persona and how we have projected ourselves onto her. We talk through these topics and our own ever-changing relationship with constructed images and celebrity.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part VI Finale Discussion
The finale of Obi-Wan Kenobi is here and oh wow, our emotions. On this episode: We talk through all the relationships in the episode from Reva and Obi-Wan to Obi-Wan and Vader to Luke and the Lars’. Caitlin details “Star Wars is tragedy” and how this episode fits into that through catharsis, destiny, fate. We say goodbye to Deborah Chow’s brilliant series and reflect on so, so much here.

Wonderfully insightful
These two are so good and insightful in their commentary. Their podcast on the last episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi was a masterpiece.
Star Wars Besties!
Listening to the SkyTalkers podcast is like chatting with your best friends about Star Wars!
Great with Some Caveats
I was really happy to find this podcast. In the sea of Star Wars podcasts hosted by men it was refreshing to find one hosted by women. There are more out there but not many. When I found Skytalkers I began following because I wanted to support them and haven’t been disappointed. Their episodes are thoughtful, well-researched, and articulate. Now I have to admit I don’t see eye-to-eye with them on everything, which is fine. I welcome differing opinions because they make the conversation interesting. Besides, where else are you going to find a discussion about the opening crawls? The opening crawls! Their enthusiasm and love for everything Star Wars is delightful. These ladies know their Star Wars.
