Hi, I’m Dax Shepard, and I love talking to people. I am endlessly fascinated by the messiness of being human, and I find people who are vulnerable and honest about their struggles and shortcomings to be incredibly sexy. I invite you to join me as I explore other people’s stories. We will celebrate, above all, the challenges and setbacks that ultimately lead to growth and betterment. What qualifies me for such an endeavor? More than a decade of sobriety, a degree in Anthropology and four years of improv training. I will attempt to discover human “truths” without any laboratory work, clinical trials or data collection. I will be, in the great tradition of 16th-century scientists, an Armchair Expert.

Everything I Want In a Podcast.

This is my favorite podcast of all time; it’s the only one I listen to now. I’m always caught up to the latest, but I also started them again from the beginning, and am 57 eps in, on my third round listening. Dax is a brilliant interviewer, and he couldn’t have picked a better cohost in Monica- their banter is hilar and clever, and I feel a kinship with both of them, because I often am saying out loud what one of them is saying as I’m listening! They’re so normal, and the show is consistently interesting. As I suffer from severe misophonia, I deeply appreciate their commitment to a) talking about it, so maybe people can stop being so disgusting with their mouths, and b) that they’ve stopped eating while on-air, because so many good podcasts are ruined that way. If I can’t trust you not to eat during your show, I can’t risk a listen! So thanks, pals. Love this show so much!

Great show but STOP THE HARD CUTS

Lots of great guests and conversations but the editing is INFURIATING!!! It’s a distraction when the guests’ normal ums and uhs are edited out so they’re talking over themselves. The Aubrey plaza episode was so obnoxious with this that I looked it up on reddit to see if other people notice. Almost had to stop listening. Stop the hard cuts!!!!!!!
