Step 3: Nothing Required… Except Turning Over Your Will and Your Life - 12 Steps for Anyone Who Wants Them

In this episode of Eternally Amy, the focus is on Step 3 of the 12-step recovery program, which involves making a decision to turn one's will and life over to the care of a higher power. Building off of Step 2, which involves coming to believe in a power greater than oneself, the discussion centers on the key of willingness and how it can be a challenge to get out of one's own way and let God handle things. Amy also touches on the "god problem" and how some 12-steppers can be turned off by the religious aspect of the program due to past experiences with the church.

Bridgid Roney ,

Grateful it’s here.

So glad I found this podcast! As a mom in recovery, working while homeschooling my kids, I really need the positive adult support when I hit the inevitable slumps that come along with my ridiculous lifestyle. It’s so nice to hear Amy’s friendly voice, with her tools and humility. I listened while washing dishes in a particularly rough moment and thought “Okay! I can keep going!”

I love Amy’s relatable topics of sobriety and Adult ADHD

Amy offers a relatable and hilarious take on topics from adult ADHD, sobriety to her love of the 1980s. It’s inspiring to see where she’s come from her lowest point (ending up in jail) to how she overcame alcohol abuse and copes with adult ADHD, becoming the author she is today, Her guests are inspiring to listen to and I love that she starts the show with a quote (mystery meat sandwich) and ends with a few fun takeaways (the bail out bag) 😊
