REPLAY: Ep. 53: Ed Wozniakewicz-Decade as an AT: Lessons Learned
Ed Wozniakwicz has been an athletic trainer for just about 10 years. He is also a listener to the podcast and thought that his experiences would bring a unique insight into our ATChat 5 questions.
In this episode we sit down and talk with Ed on what he has learned over the past 10 years and what information he would want to pass down to young professionals if he were able to go back and have the information he does now. This was a unique episode because the host, Joel, is at the same point in his career and the comparisons of what has been learned was unique.
A lot of great insights in this episode and some good lessons learned to help young professionals and all ATCs continue to move forward in their career and the profession.

Ep. 166: Shauna Ericksen-Hitting Pause and Restarting
The first time we talked with Shauna, she had a lot going on. She was in the middle of a PhD program while also runnign her online business at the time, MVMT Matters. In this follow up discussion, a lot has happened and Shauna was kind enough to share her story.
Shauna’s PhD program didn’t go quite as expected and that is the story she shares. She goes into detail about the feelings of being left alone when she was struggling to figure out her next steps and how the support she thought she might have, just never came. We also discuss the process that Shauna went through to make the decision to no further pursue her PhD. There was a lot that went into that decision and gives great insight into a large decision like that.
Thanks Shauna for sharing so much.

Ep. 165: Dr. Phillip Vardiman-All aspects of Athletic Training
Dr. Phillip Vardiman has done and is doing a lot in the athletic training profession. I know Dr. Vardiman from my time in graduate school when he served as my advisor and we’ve been able to stay in touch ever since. Dr. Vardiman in this episode shares with us how he works to balance all the different apsects of AT he is involved in. Not only has he been full-time in an academic education program, he is doing research, service with the state and beyond and slo keeping up his clinical skils in a couple of areas.
We discuss the timportance of being involved in so much to keep current in as many areas as he can but at time it comes down to priorities and deciding what you can do at the highest levels and adjusting other aspects. In addition to this conversation, Dr. Varidman talks about his time working with USA Track & Field and everything he learned in those experiences. He also talks about his most recent work with the Rangers at Fort Riley and the impact it has had on him. There is so much to take away from this discussion, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Ep. 164: Industrial Athletic Trainers Society-Virtual Networking Summit
We had the pleasure of joining the 2024 IATS VNS. It was a great day of education as it relates to the industrial setting. This recording was the end of the day and was a round table discussion from some of the members of the IATS board and the director of education. We discussed professional membership and service and how IATS has worked to ensure they keep everyone engaged and provide value that keeps everyone invested in what the IATS provides. This was a great conversation with a lot of great take aways.

Informative and positive productivity
This podcast allows a sense of community into the athletic training program and learn more about the profession from other athletic trainers. This podcast allows a connection with people around the world and their experiences as an athletic trainer. Personally as a student in undergrad with the mindset of getting accepted into a AT program and continuing study into a Dpt program this information is one hundred percent a must listen.
