Episode 82with Guests Pim Emotional Eating

Episode 82with Guests Pim Emotional Eating

Emotional eating affects both men and women. It may be caused by a number of factors, including stress, hormonal changes, or mixed hunger cues. Also, it can be a habit or trauma that plays a part.

    In this episode we cover:
Alway's  had struggled with sugar at a young age
We don't have to eat when we are social with our friends
Our brain lights up with sugar
    What is the Habit Loop?
You need to love yourself to make changes
Trauma can be why you are emotional eating
Do you have a strong reason why you want to stop emotional eating?
It takes a lot of brain space when you are addicted to sugar
Can you have that sugar tomorrow?
What is the river of misery?

Pim is a Nutritionist (MSc), certified Cravings Coach and sugar addict in recovery. For the last 20+ years she has been helping clients get healthy by changing their diet and lifestyle, while being unable to quit sugar herself. Five years ago, she discovered that her cravings were not related to the food that she ate or any deficiencies in her diet. She was eating emotionally, despite not identifying as an emotional eater. She got help from an experienced weight loss coach who dealt with cravings management and she is now at a place where she can control her eating at all times and teaches others to do the same by re-programming their brains to respond to cravings differently.

Bio:  My name is Kristian Reiber and I am a Certified Holistic Health and Mindset Coach who specializes in helping female entrepreneurs and leading businesswomen achieve a healthy work-life balance.  Helping people transform their lives, often in ways they had never even imagined, has become my purpose.  The reward I get from witnessing these transformations has more value than diamonds.

Discovering my purpose has been a 45 year-long journey since birth that included surviving childhood abuse as well as addictions to both tobacco (from ages 10-30) and sugar (from infancy to age 40).  I found a way to naturally overcome the autoimmune disease psoriasis, after suffering for almost 2 decades, by overhauling my diet and by avoiding toxins.  Perhaps the most profound stretch of my journey to discovery covered the last 4 years.  It involved transforming the limiting beliefs and unhealthy fixed mindsets that held me back most of my life.  These ongoing transformations will continue to be a part of my life until I lie in my deathbed, as I continue striving to become a better person every day.  Ferreting out these false beliefs and mindsets was possible through analyzing my decision-making, through guided introspection, and willingness to ask myself difficult questions.  My guides on this part of discovering my purpose include some of the world's most influential self-improvement superstars who showed me how to stop believing my own BS.

My passions include empathy, collecting and listening to vinyl records, empowering others, reading, mountain biking, positivity, traveling, personal development, and cooking.  I'm a naturalist, a foodie, an entrepreneur, a listener, a trail designer and steward, a public speaker, a healer, an uncle, a mountain bike skills instructor, a volunteer, and a writer.

Episode 80 - How To Tell People that we are tired in a different way? Vennessa McConkey

Episode 80 - How To Tell People that we are tired in a different way? Vennessa McConkey

Vanessa deals with 3 different autoimmune issues but that doesn't stop her from having a
    life!

In this episode we also cover:
    Adrenal Insufficiency  (Addison Disease)
Why Me?  Is what we ask ourselves with our health issues
    Hashimoto's Disease
How do we tell people that we are tired in a different way?
    Four Personality Types
Good visual for to use to communicate you are tired
Tip to communicate better with your doctor
You start to heal when you share your story

Vennessa is a wife and mom first. She worked in corporate for many years as an engineer, operations manager, and consultant. She then moved on to career coaching. All while managing her three autoimmune diseases - Addison’s, Hashimoto’s, and Vitiligo. She was first diagnosed with Addison’s back in 2007, after struggling for 5 years trying to figure out why she wasn’t feeling “right”. No periods worked out a lot, ate “healthy”, painted, played piano, enjoyed life and work as much as possible - but the fatigue, dizziness, stomach-churning, getting a cold and being sick for week….and more...was too much to handle at times.

General practitioners, endocrinologists, and other specialists, even naturopaths were giving her all kinds of whacky answers and telling her she’d never get pregnant, her libido will always be low, things won’t get better - only worse, or even better….you don’t look sick/have Addison’s disease because you aren’t gaining weight or skin darkening.

She finally took the matter into her own hands because OUR health is not the doctor’s responsibility. She was still not feeling well. She educated herself on medications and dosages, along with supplements, healing foods, learned to read bloodwork, and know what questions to ask doctors. In addition, with a young family and husband with ADHD, she has learned how to manage daily stressors that trigger autoimmune inflammation.

Vennessa loves cooking - making meals and snacks kid and husband-approved while providing the nutrients needed (which lack in today’s foods). She enjoys playing with her boys, coloring, and playing piano….as well as those secret Mommy-getaways to read and sleep!

Episode 79 Boundaries, Intermitted fasting ,Scientist Matty Landsdown

Boundaries!  Boundaries are guidelines, rules, or limits that a person creates to identify for themselves what are reasonable, safe, and permissible ways for other people to behave around them and how they will respond when someone steps outside those limits

Committed to being a better person every day!

Matty is an in-demand Nutritional Therapist, International Speaker, Health and Nutrition Coach, and Consultant for high-level corporate clients, business owners, and 9-5 workers

As a scientist of biology at a major Melbourne hospital and having worked in the fields of Cancer Research and Vaccine Formulation, Matty developed the core belief that ‘genetic diseases’ are, for the most part, a result of misinformation and bad food consumption habits passed down from generation to generation, rather than a result of genetic predisposition to an illness.

Matty’s medical knowledge, combined with extensive research and self-testing of non-traditional dieting and safe fasting methods have made him an internationally recognized voice in the field of intermittent fasting and nutritional optimization. He is regularly invited to international wellness events, retreats, and conferences as a coach, panelist, and speaker.

Likewise, Matty’s weekly podcast “How to NOT Get Sick and Die”, provides his followers with a deep dive into developing sustainable healthy habits.

Very helpful!

This is a very helpful podcast as it’s hosted by someone who is going through it day-in and day-out and made it a point to educate herself extensively on the subject.
