Whoa, he’s a pro!

The host, Kelly Leonard, isn’t just the Mac Daddy Godfather of Second City, he’s actually a behavioral scientist. Doing research with some of the top academics in their fields. He knows everything and everyone! Oh and his own book, YES, AND, is the bomb!!

As the co-founder of a three-decades old media production company, an ensemble member in a Tony winning theater company and an active arts advocate, GETTING TO YES AND informs every aspect of my life and is at the top of my "must-listen" list. The show, the guests and host Kelly Leonard are steeped in humility, intelligence, vulnerability, wit and genuine collaborative spirit. Every week, GETTING TO YES AND changes the course of my life a little bit, offering me new ways to think, inviting me to adapt new perspectives, and inspiring me to take more thoughtful approaches to my work and life. And it's FUN. Subscribe, and right now.
Interning Guests, Challenging Ideas
10/18/2018
I had the pleasure of meeting Kelly Leonard at the Chief Learning Officer Symposium in the spring of 2018 where he was a keynote speaker. He’s funny, interesting and a great story teller. His podcast challenges my thinking. I appreciate how thoroughly prepared he is with every episode. It’s apparent he reads each guest’s book and has very thoughtful questions based on what he learned and what he learns during the conversation.
The intersection of improv, innovation and leadership
08/15/2018
This podcast has firmly established itself as a go-to for me. As a healthcare innovation leader - and a new student of improv - I’ve been able to quickly lessons from Kelly Leonard’s book and podcast. They resonate for me and those with whom I’ve shared. He has a diverse range of insightful guests, and a knack for leading great conversations. The work Kelly & his team at Second City are doing is groundbreaking and I encourage any business leader or student to take note, learn and apply improv methods. And it makes you a better person overall.
My favorite podcast! Great for businesspeople, improvisers, and all humans

"Getting to Yes, And" is hands down my favorite podcast I listen to! Consistently I find the episodes to be interesting, dynamic, and I always come away learning something new or inspired in some way. The host, Kelly, interviews interesting authors, executives, leaders, and researchers, asking them about their work and making the connections between the work they're doing and the lessons learned in improv comedy. Each interview feels real, human, and is fun to listen to! As an entrepreneur and business owner, this podcast inspires new ways of thinking about my leadership style and way I approach the human-side and creative aspects of building and managing companies. As an improviser, I love all things The Second City and enjoy learning more about the principles of improv making an impact off stage as well! I recommend this podcast to anyone! Particularly, anyone who is curious, is interested in learning, and/or is at all curious about improv comedy and its applications in the corporate world or more generally, in life. Just say "yes, and" listen to this podcast!
This review came off the top of my head

Thank you Kelly. I've read 'Yes, And' and enjoy hearing you speak with authors and innovators using improv techniques. In the Alzheimer's episode it was said that we should work with the reality those folks bring to us. And there you go. That's the moment that catalyzed this review. I help it helps people supporting others that live, love, and work with those in this place.
Fantastic!
