    Ricks Bio:

    Rick Abramson is former Chief Medical Officer for Annalise.ai, a healthcare technology company providing advanced AI solutions for medical imaging.  Annalise’s software-as-a-medical-device (SaMD) products are regulatory cleared and commercially available in 40 countries.

    Rick’s career has straddled the clinical and business sides of health care.  After a stint at McKinsey & Co. serving pharmaceutical industry clients, Rick completed Harvard Medical School followed by postgraduate training at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, the University of Pennsylvania, and Johns Hopkins.  He then joined the faculty at Vanderbilt University Medical School, where he served as Associate Professor and Vice-Chair for Innovation and led a NIH-funded research program spanning cancer treatment biomarkers, healthcare economics, quality measurement, and machine learning in diagnostic medical imaging.  Rick then joined HCA Healthcare as corporate vice-president over HCA’s radiology service line.  Between his roles at HCA and Annalise, Rick led clinical strategy for Covera Health, a venture-backed health tech startup based in New York.

    Rick lives in Nashville with his wife and two children.  He holds A.B. and M.D. degrees from Harvard as well as a Master of Health Care Delivery Science degree from Dartmouth, and he maintains a Vanderbilt faculty appointment as Adjoint Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering.  He currently serves on the advisory committees of several healthcare venture capital firms and is a trustee of the Harpeth Hall School in Nashville.
