FCP E117. My new approach to prenatal vitamins

In this episode, Dr. Kelsey discusses the role of prenatal vitamins in fertility and pregnancy. She explains that while prenatals are important for maintaining nutrient stores and reducing the risk of neural tube defects, they are not the key factor in achieving pregnancy. Dr. Kelsey emphasizes the importance of a well-balanced diet and personalized nutrition for fertility. She also addresses the debate between folate and folic acid, the absorbability of nutrients in prenatal vitamins, and the need for additional nutrients like choline.

Great Info & Comfort while TTC

I just found out I am pregnant after many months of trying to conceive. This podcast was a great source of information and comfort while we were TTC, and I am glad I started incorporating some of the stress-reducing and mind-body connecting strategies earlier this year.

After privately TTC for a few months already, I was looking for a fertility podcast that was digestible and relevant for me to feel less lonely about this process. Dr. Kelsey’s podcast was the best fit. I have listened to episodes out of order since January. Her voice is really calming and I got a lot out of her episodes, particularly about recovering from burnout, reducing stress, and establishing a mind-body connection.

The cycle syncing episodes were also a touchstone for me each time I went through my cycle, and I tried to incorporate the energy and needs of each phase into my daily life. I had never thought about my body in this way, and it provided me with a new perspective for taking care of myself as I struggled with stress and lack of control. I wouldn’t be in the much calmer headspace I am now without the help of this podcast.

Thank you so much!

Profanity

I wanted to love this, but all the profanity just makes her seem uneducated!

Realistic

I have been TTC for over a year and I am 37 y/o (nearly 38). I have had one IUI that worked but miscarried very early. I have been working towards cleaning up my diet and mindset. This journey is overwhelming. There is so much information out there and trying to navigate what you should and shouldn’t do is very stressful. I appreciate Dr.Duncan’s simplistic approach that you can easily fit into your life. There is not a one size fits all and I appreciate her understanding and knowledge in that. I am grateful for Dr. Duncan sharing her wisdom with this community of women and I am looking forward to the knowledge I will gain from her insight.
