Brad Crowell 0:01   F**k yeah.  Lesley Logan 0:03   Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. I'm Lesley Logan, Pilates instructor and fitness business coach. I've trained thousands of people around the world and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt. My friends, action brings clarity and it's the antidote to fear. Each week, my guest will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and Be It Till You See It. It's a practice, not a perfect. Let's get started.  Lesley Logan 0:48   Hi, Be It babe. How are you? Happy Friday. Welcome to your first Friday in April. We did it. We're here. Ah, I'm currently in Europe, but still being inspired by you. And have some wins of yours to share, and couple wins of mine and and some inspiration and a mantra and something like that, right? Like, that's how this episode goes. And I'm just really grateful for you, to be honest. So the inspiration from the interwebs that I was like, oh my god, I have to tell the Be It babes, that's you. By the way, if you're listening, you're brand new here, hi. This is from @ucanoutdoors. I don't know what that means, @ucanoutdoors. That's what that means. Okay, how about that? Well, the link's in the show notes they shared this post, it has handwritten it says, your time on Earth is limited. Don't try to age with grace, age with mischief, audacity and a good story to tell from a healed life. I am obsessed. Let me say that one more time. Don't try to age with grace. Age with mischief, audacity and a good story to tell. Well, we've got some good stories for your guys to tell.  Lesley Logan 1:45   So we always do a little win of yours. And so I got two from you guys. I was like, hey guys, I want some wins. You know you can send them in right? beitpod.com/questions where you can send your questions in and your wins in. And you know what you might need to hear your win from the past on a day that it comes up, because, like, sometimes we're just having a day, right? Like, I'll be honest, I woke up and today was a day, so I'm excited to be talking and recording with you, because today was just a day, and that's just because I had a crappy flight. More on that another moment. Okay, so @creative_soul_pilates, I got to hang out with a childhood friend and reconnect. It was so good for the soul. That's so fun a friend from childhood that you still hanging out with, that's amazing. I don't know that, but I have seen on TV, and it looks so delightful, I can totally see how that is for the soul. Lesley Logan 2:36   And I don't say that to be like, don't, don't feel sorry for me. Like, but I that those of you who have those childhood friends that like it's good for your soul, I love that for you, I think that is the cool. What a win that you guys could just evolve and grow and change and stay in touch with each other in a positive, supporting way. That means you're two badass humans. That's really what it means. All right, @meganlinney, she'd been on the pod before, by the way, she wrote, I've accomplished my greatest pivot and accelerated timing with like-minded people. Infinite wins. And I couldn't agree more, I've been watching from the sidelines. I'm so happy for you. You know, you really have, like, talk about no one, no one likes the word pivot anymore. I think it became the new the new word no one can hear. It's like, nailed on a chalkboard. But honestly, like, sometimes you need to do it. And when you do it, you want to do it like you did Megan, because you are absolutely a model for how to pivot with well, you know, like I started the podcast with audacity and a good story to tell.  Lesley Logan 3:33   All right, my win. So two things. One, I don't think I've actually done this with you guys on a FYF. We're a top 1% podcast because of you. So thanks so much. I think I said it on one of the recap episodes, but I just want to make sure I say it here, in case you listen to these more, that's a huge win. That's like a five year in the making win, like, just absolutely wonderful, and without ads and without, you know, doing crazy, wild, clickbaity stuff. So just really proud that we could do it authentically and with you. And I felt like this because of you. My win is, okay, so I was like, I was having a great day. I was in Sacramento for like, what was supposed to only be, like, 30 hours, not even like I supposed to see 25 hours, and it turned it into 30 something hours. And that's because I was just like, having the best time. I was really proud of myself. I was even outgoing by myself at a bar at the lounge. Not my normal thing. I was allowing myself to, like, just enjoy, like, people watching and what was going on, and be part of it, and part of the Olympics and all this stuff. And, you know, it's just really great. And I was like, oh, look at me. I'm like, oh, on this plane, it's just gonna be so easy. And get on the plane, and we get down the runway, and I was like, okay, babe, I'll see you in an hour. Make sure you're on time. Don't be late. I don't want to go to bed late. And we don't take off, and we're just sitting there, and it's like, not great, it's like, what is happening? And they come on, and they go, okay, we have to reset the system. And I'm like, I don't know that I want to be on a plane, that they're resetting the system while I'm on the runway. What? So anyways, that didn't work. They turned us around and we got off, and they're like, okay, we're gonna figure out what's next. And I'm like, what's next? I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, that took me three months to get you have got to get me home. Like, I don't know if I would have a good night's sleep at a hotel. You've got to get me home tonight. And so I sat there, but I tried to be really patient. I just like, I'm not going to be like, some Karen who is going to go up and yell, I'm just going to, like, sit here and be chill. I mean, I just had a great time at the bar, like, I'm just going to sit here and be chill. And I sat there long enough for them to say, okay, meet back at this gate in one hour. And I was like, I'm gonna take myself out to dinner now. So took myself out to dinner and got on the plane, and I just let myself, like, let I decided to see what it would be like if I didn't get upset about something. And it was quite nice. So it was annoying, it was frustrating. It was all the feelings. And

And like, women over 50, because your brain is rewiring so it's like, it never it actually like, where, yes, people's brains stopped developing in their early 20s. The actual reality for female brains is because of perimenopause, our brain has to rewire itself because of how we operate. We don't have the same hormones that we used to.  Lesley Logan 0:22   Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. Lesley Logan 1:01   Welcome back to the Be It Till You See It interview recap where my co-host in life, Brad, and I are going to dig into the grounded convo I had with Bria Gadd in our last episode. If you missed that one, you f****d up and or you're brand new.  Brad Crowell 1:17   No, or you're not grounded. That's all. You're floating.  Lesley Logan 1:19   You're floating. If it sounds like I'm like, on the brink of a sneeze, I am this. My sinuses are kicking. This allergy season is kicking my ass. I'm just gonna say it. And we can't prolong this any longer. We tried. We're here. And if you're looking at this on the internet, I look like I got punched in the face. I understand. So we're going with it. And that's just how it's going to be. Today is April 2nd and it's Autism Acceptance Day. It's really important that you take a look at the different things going on in autism world, because there are some groups who are problematic, and they're autism awareness, and then there's this one, which is autism acceptance day. So I checked in with some of our amazing people in our lives who have children are autistic and they're excited that we're talking about this day. So Autism Acceptance Day, also known as World Autism Day, is observed annually, adopted by the United Nations in 2007. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness and promote acceptance of people with autism spectrum disorder. It also presents an opportunity to tear down misconceptions and false notions about the disability. So, about disability, excuse me.  Brad Crowell 2:22   Yeah. So I decided to just do a little homework, because we hear about, like, being on the spectrum, you know, and I put that in air quotes, even though I shouldn't have, because it's actually it is spectrum. So, so I did that wrong. But what is being. Lesley Logan 2:36   Joey, you're like, Joey, thank you. Brad Crowell 2:39   Thank you with my air quotes, thank you.  Lesley Logan 2:42   You're amazing.  Brad Crowell 2:43   Okay, so on the spectrum refers to being diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, which is a neurodevelopmental condition affecting communication, social interaction and behavior. It means a person experiences the world differently with a unique, wide range of strengths and challenges, rather than a single linear progression of severity. So it can present itself in many different ways.  Lesley Logan 3:10   Oh, just like ADHD presents in different ways.  Brad Crowell 3:13   I'm sure, but I think that, like, the most obvious is, like, we've all, you know, if you haven't seen the movie Rain Man, you know, that's one we're seeing. But effectively, that's one way we see it. We also see like that autism can be, like, completely socially debilitating, you know, or. Lesley Logan 3:27   You could be like our neighbor across the street, who.  Brad Crowell 3:29   100% functional, has family, definitely autistic.  Lesley Logan 3:34   Oh, yeah. He, he holds on to zero emotions. And if they, if he and his wife are listening, hi, wow, it was me. I'm like, have you been married 20 years? If you hold on to no emotions, I understand, but I, I think that what's really important to me for bringing this up is one, we're, because we have more research and more information, it's not that there's more autistic people, it's just that when you test for things, you actually can get more like people get the labels that they need, and because we have information on how to test sooner, this means that people can get the help that they need so that they can have a life that they want to live. Whatever that help is, help can be different for each person, and it's very interesting, because Brad and I are diagnosed with ADHD, and people are thinking, if you're on the internet, it can feel like a trend for people over 40 people died of ADHD. But actually, as a child, growing up, Brad would present it as ADHD. They should diagnose him as it. But girls present differently, but they still have it. So it's not like I got ADHD. I have always had it. I have all the symptoms and signs that women would present. But that's not what was happening in the 90s. And so I just want to say, like, it's, I think it's really important, because there's an a*****e in the government who's making up shit about autism and autistic people, and he can f**k himself, because it's actually not helpful, and it's not helpful that people who are autistic, and actually, like, when you diverse, when you create myths around any thing, whether it is the flu or Covid or some sort of diagnosis, it actually causes harm to the people who have it, are it, is it, and it actually means that, like, they don't get the help that they need. And then people get scared about things that are not, should not be fearful. Brad Crowell 5:21   Well, also, you mentioned, you know, ADHD. ADHD and autism are linked like they're, they're definitely, there's definitely an overlap. Lesley Logan 5:30   Oh, well, I'm pretty sure I'm still diagnosed with ADHD. Brad Crowell 5:34   Well, yeah, that's AUDHD, AUDHD, instead of just ADHD. Lesley Logan 5:38

    661. Perimenopause Is the Gift We Didn’t Know We Needed

Is perimenopause something to dread, or is it the ultimate diagnostic tool for your future self? In this eye-opening episode, Lesley Logan sits down with Bria Gadd, the “Period Whisperer,” to dismantle the myths around female hormonal transitions. They explore the idea of “health debt”—what happens when life keeps demanding more than your body can give—and how that starts to show up over time. Bria reframes perimenopause as a “reverse puberty,” revealing where your foundations may need support, so you can move out of the shame spiral and start investing in a vibrant second half of life.   If you have any questions about this episode or want to get some of the resources we mentioned, head over to LesleyLogan.co/podcast https://lesleylogan.co/podcast/. Take a minute every day or once a week, look at yourself in the mirror, eye to eye, and get really real with yourself about how you're feeling. Be honest, be vulnerable with yourself and take that stillness. Nobody wants to be still, but you need to be still. That's where your answers come from. It'll be uncomfortable, but you can do it. You can do hard things. Lesley Logan 0:23   Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. Lesley Logan 1:01   All right, Be It babe. We are going to talk perimenopause, periods and our bodies, and specifically, like listening to our bodies. And I am obsessed with our guest today. It will not be the last time I have her on the pod, for sure. Bria Gadd is here. She is the period whisperer, and she is someone who really is diving in on a on a holistic level, but like with tons of research and information and and really taking in herself and with hundreds of clients that she's worked with. And so this is really fun, educational, informational, and lots of great tools, things you can do on your own once you listen to this based on what you need. So here is Bria Gadd.  Lesley Logan 1:11   All right, Be It babe, we are about to have an amazing conversation on a topic I have been wanting to have on this podcast for years. I'm very excited about it. I'm so excited our guest is here because she's amazing. She's the one and only period whisperer. Bria Gadd, can you tell everyone, I'm gonna kind of let them know, but can you tell everyone what you rock at? Bria Gadd 2:00   Thank you, Lesley, first of all, I love I'm super loving your podcast these days. I love what you bring, how you show up for people like I felt super inspired, and we actually had you on my podcast. And you should know that I have been actively searching for, like, a great Pilates studio with the certifications you told me about. So I'm really inspired by you, and I'm sure everyone listening already knows and loves your podcast, but I hope they go review it if they haven't.  Lesley Logan 2:26   Aw thank you.  Bria Gadd 2:27   Yeah, I'm excited to be here. Thank you. And yeah, I am a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition practitioner, you know, personal trainer, but really, I specialize in female hormones, so my whole goal and purpose is to help women better understand their bodies so that they can thrive and live out their dreams in midlife and beyond. Lesley Logan 2:47   I am obsessed with this topic lately because, you know, I'm really grateful I had friends who are well 10 plus years older than me, so they were like singing the perimenopause warning symbols well before I needed to hear them, which is great, because I could go in with research and information, like, first, like, sign, a potential symptom. I could, like, take some autonomy and some agency into like, what am I doing? What is this? What are my options, right? But I actually feel like, for generations, women's bodies, we have not been told information about them. I mean, the crappy little video that they teach you in the sixth grade, or maybe it was the fifth grade, right? That's like, the last time, that's the first and last time. Because I actually did AP science, biology, they don't talk about any of this stuff in schools ever, unless it's like you're, you're a specialty, and even then, I wonder, you know, so it's like you're kind of like, at the mercy of what your doctor knows, and you start to feel crazy because there's, there's symptoms of things that have, not that have, that might not appear to have anything to do with your female reproductive organs. So can you chat a bit about what we should know about our bodies? I mean, that's a big topic, but like, you know, with the women that you work with, like, what do we need to know? Because being it until you see it, it's completely tied to how we feel. Bria Gadd 4:01   Yeah, for sure, I love this, and I am going to disrupt some things, I think, a little bit here, because, I mean, look, seven years ago when I started entering into this magical age box, which, for everyone, begins around 35 right? It's like a reverse puberty. I mean, you could not define, I didn't, nobody even knew what the word perimenopause was, and now it is like shoved down your throat. You cannot scroll social media without seeing something about hormones or perimenopause or menopause, which I think is a wonderful thing on one hand. But what I like to kind of really explain, after now working with hundreds of women and kind of going through my own journey, is that perimenopause, as I said, like your reverse puberty, is really just the retiring of your ovaries. And do not get me wrong, they're a major player. They're a big support player in our body, and when they retire, that obviously causes a lot of stress. I really think about it like, you know, if you were working in a corporate, you know, land and one of your, like, best colleagues. Who does a boatload of work for you just is starts to retire. I mean, that puts a lot more pressure on the other people in the department.  Lesley Logan 5:07   Brilliant. Love that description. I can feel that I've lost an assistant before, and I'm lik

Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. Lesley Logan 0:44   Hi Be It babe, we made it. We made it to the end of March. We're here. We did it. Hopefully you celebrated your wins along the way, and hopefully you sent them in, because that's what this episode's about. We can't wait to share your wins. Some inspiration. This inspiration. This is beautiful. This is like, I saw this. I cried when I read it. I cried when I shared it to Brad, because I was like, I have to show this Brad, and I'm gonna cry probably reading it to you. But I just think that, like, we need to know that there's good people doing good things out there in the world, and like, people doing what they can. And I think it's really important thing in being it until we see it and helping out the people around us and helping out humankind, we have to remember that it feels like a big problem if we try to do it all by ourselves, but if we just do what we can, and everyone's doing what they can, it all adds up. It changes the world. It really, really does. I was talking to my yoga teacher this morning before I started recording these and, you know, I convinced someone in my world to change, you know, how they are voting. You know, they were able to see the hypocrisy and things like that and like it can feel like, so like, like, it's one person, but it's also one person. If we all do it, check us out. Anyways, this is the inspiration. So this is from @shady_et and we basically compile collections of kind stories. So this is not their story, but the story that they compiled. So it said, the person says, I work at Petals and Stems a flower shop downtown. This man came in Tuesday morning, suit, tie, crooked, tie crooked eyes, red. My daughter, she's six, cancer. She's dying maybe a week left, and she loves yellow. He started crying right there in front of the daisies. I made him tea. What's her name? Emma. We bring her flowers every day at the hospital. It's the only thing that makes still makes her smile. After he left, I called every flower shop in the city. 12 shops. Told them about Emma. The next morning, I drove to the hospital with my car full of yellow flowers. When I got there, 11 other florists were already waiting, fans lined up, arms full of yellow we filled Emma's room every surface, the windowsill, the floor, the nurse's station, the hallway, yellow everywhere. Emma opened her eyes and smiled. It's a yellow garden like heaven. We stayed. All 12 florists sat in the hospital room just being there. One brought a guitar. Another read Emma a story. Emma died three days later, surrounded by yellow flowers and strangers who loved her anyway. At her funeral, every florist donated arrangements. Her dad told everyone about the day the flower shops came. Emma thought she was in heaven already. She was right. Okay, hold on, I'm gonna get this out. Now, every year, on Emma's birthday, all 12 shops close for an hour. We bring yellow roses to the pediatric ICU, fill the rooms, sit with the families. We call it Emma's garden. I can't but like, how cool. So, like, don't ever underestimate the power of what you can do. You know, like, just, just being kind and thoughtful. It took a phone call, and now they get together every year and they do this. So anyways, woo, beautiful stuff. Okay, so I'm smiling and crying because I just picture how wonderful it is for that little girl that she got to experience that, and then all the kids would get to because of her. Love for them.  Lesley Logan 0:44   So, now I have to deal with your wins. What a great transition. Here we go. This one is from @be_more_betty, my wins, just launched my second chemical free beauty product, and one of my fave stores is taking it on. Also, braved the sauna and C session, f*****g cold, especially on the feet, yeah, uh huh. But I had the best night's sleep ever trying to fill my cup as I'm hosting event next weekend, trying to stay grounded. Anyone else could still get anxious over hosting events. Always because you care. Because if you care, you're gonna get a little anxious, and then Gay Hendricks just says, if you exhale and inhale correctly, that anxiety will turn into excitement. So just little tip for you. Thank you, @be_more_betty, thanks for sharing your wins. Way to take action, and also way to go get caught in cold. I mean, that is a thing I want to do someday in that, like actual ocean, not just my cold plunge, I do my cold punch, but also, you know, we'll get there. We'll get there.  Lesley Logan 2:16   Okay, my win. I'm almost on my second honeymoon, actually. So Brad and I are in Belgium right now teaching. It's really quite fun. I've never taught here before, so it's really fun to be amongst friends. And it's a couple years in the making, making this happen, and it's just really beautiful and wonderful. And we had a great trip on our weekend over here. But Brad and I are taking our second honeymoon, which happens to be 10 years almost to the date of our first honeymoon. Another win packed into this. It's like, I no longer am going to, like, go back and forth to Europe, like I I do it once, and I'm just going to be there for a month, and I'm just going to do it. And so we packed this trip in Poland, then Belgium, then our little break, and then we're ending the trip in London for POT London. And so there's a few wins in there. And just like it took a lot of planning, took a lot of coordinating with lots of different people and putting ourselves out there and all these things, but we did it, and we're going to enjoy a week and a half just celebrating what we've done the last 10 years and all the work that we've been doing together in the last almost six years, that we've been just working together full time. And it's also because of all t

Lesley Logan 0:37   Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. Lesley Logan 1:19   Welcome back to the Be It Till You See It interview recap where my co-host in life, Brad, and I are going to dig into the grounded convo I have with Gail Hugman. Hugman.  Brad Crowell 1:27   Hugman.  Lesley Logan 1:28   Yeah, that's right. I'm like, sorry, Gail. I know you're listening, but you know when you're like, oh, all of a sudden, hold on. Did I miss a G, H, whatever. Gail Hugman, she's f*****g the best it was in our last episode. Brad Crowell 1:38   The two of you. So I listen everything on like, 2x speed. And if I could, I'd probably try to listen to it on 3x speed. And the two of you were like, giggle monsters. Lesley Logan 1:47   I'm obsessed with her. Like, I and I was like, when Brad came up, he was halfway through her interview, and he's like, this is amazing. And I was like, Oh, good, because I did go for a second going, am I about to, like, get all the parents to hate me out there, like, like, I don't want to be, because here's the deal, I understand, I don't have children. I get that. I don't understand the day to day. I can't even imagine the cell phone conversation I my kids. I'll just tell you right now, here's where I'd be. They would hate us. They would have a flip phone with those heavy batteries so big it wouldn't fit in their pocket. Like, no internet, you know, like, because there's so much research on, like, how it's, like, affecting people's ability to focus. So, like, this interview, to me, was so amazing, and we are buying all of her books for, sorry, Meredith and Kyle, you're getting them all. Brad Crowell 2:39   True, yeah, but actually, we had a chance to meet Gail in real life last year when we were in England, and it was so interesting. I was just chatting with her on the side of class, and the conversation was so like, she was so inspiring in the five minutes that we were talking that I was like, holy cow, you need to be a guest on Lesley's pod. Lesley Logan 3:02   Gail, I don't know if you believe in past life, but in a past life, I feel like we were family. Brad Crowell 3:07   Yeah, seriously. Well, I'm really, really glad that we were able to have Gail on, and I love that the very first thing that she said is, I don't think I fit the Be It mold, you know, and you two agreed that this would be inspiring the parents, for the kids, so that the kids can be it.  Lesley Logan 3:25   I well, that's just it. I mean being it till you see it.  Brad Crowell 3:28   I disagree with her in that she did break the Be It mold, but you know, I love the conversation.  Lesley Logan 3:33   You don't think she broke them all?  Brad Crowell 3:34   No, I think she was being it till she saw it all day, every day. You know like she was very innovative in her career. Fifty years as a teacher, y'all. Lesley Logan 3:42   Especially as she was talking about how she, like, got into what she's doing, it's a be it till you see it kind of a story. So Gail, so sorry you didn't. But also sorry, honey, didn't hate to break it to you. But also, I can't just have people who just tell me stories about themselves all day. We are four and a half. I would have five, almost five years in on this pod. Like crazy. I want to be entertained as well. I want to learn something, and sometimes it's bringing in experts who help us get to where we're going. You can't just be inspired all the time. You have to have information that you can integrate. So I really felt like that's what she did. But anyways, before we keep going and just complimenting Gail Hugman.  Lesley Logan 4:19   Today is March 26th 2026 and it's wear a hat day.  Brad Crowell 4:24   Wear a Hat Day.  Lesley Logan 4:26   We celebrate Wear a Hat Day on March 26th is a fun and fabulous way to raise awareness for brain tumor research and raise funds while we're at it. The holiday was created as a way to get our heads and our hats together to advance research and find a cure for brain tumor so you don't need to have it affected to make a difference. We've got some ideas to get you ahead to this wear hat day. Do they? Did they give us any ideas?  Brad Crowell 4:49   No.  Lesley Logan 4:49   They didn't give us anything. No links. There's not a charity on this not further down. Okay, before we just start talking about a charity we have not researched, I highly recommend you Google in your area what local charities are doing with brain tumor research or state charities that are doing it because. Brad Crowell 5:08   Hold on, I'm going to read you more. Occurring in aroun

While many focus solely on academic grades, Gail’s work targets the root of a child’s success: motivation, mindset, and the "how-to" of learning. Through her unique methodology, she provides children with the essential tools to become self-motivated, focused, and confident individuals who take pride in their own achievements.  Drawing on her deep passion for human development and the neuroscience of learning, Gail’s approach centers on teaching executive function skills such as concentration, listening, and self-control. She recognizes that in a fast-paced world, neither schools nor overwhelmed parents always have the specialized resources to instill these foundational life skills. Gail bridges this gap, transforming the family dynamic by helping children become independent and capable.   If you enjoyed this episode, make sure and give us a five star rating and leave us a review on iTunes, Podcast Addict, Podchaser or Castbox. https://lovethepodcast.com/BITYSI DEALS! Lesley Logan 0:25   Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. Lesley Logan 1:08   Be It babe, okay, so, today's episode, if you don't have children, you might be like, this isn't for me. I hope you listen either, because it might help you make sense of your childhood. It might help you support your friends who are parents. If you've already parented, you might think it like I hope you listen, because I have a parenting expert. Well, if not parenting expert, I would call her a education expert of children, and her be it action item for every single one of us to support children is amazing and wonderful and simple and hard and complicated and necessary and doable, and I'm really excited about it, because, ladies, I've been I've been trying to figure out how to help you prioritize yourself first. And for many of you, there is the love and responsibility of your children that are keeping you from that, from prioritizing yourself first, from being it till you see it, from doing the Pilates you say you want to do. And my hope was that Gayle hugman, our guest today, could give you some tools, some support, some insight into the role that you have. And hopefully that allows you to not just be the parent you want to be, but be the human you want to be in this world. And while I don't have kids, I hope I don't offend anyone in my in my inquiries and my observations and my wonders. But I also truly believe in every single one of you who are parents and so grateful when I'm older, someone's child does need to help take care of me. So there's a weird thing where I would like someone's child to take care of me because I don't have any of my own but also I want you to have the life you so dreamed up and wanted for yourself and for them, and so I hope this episode really supports you in that, and I'd love to hear your takeaways. Here is Gail Hugman.  Lesley Logan 2:53   All right, Be It babe. I'm excited. I've have not ever had a guest like this before. One I got to meet this amazing person in real life, on our mullet tour in Essex area, and she loves Pilates. So you my Pilates lovers, know that this woman loves Pilates too. Been doing it a long time, but I I got to know what she does for a living. I thought, oh my gosh, this is a guest I haven't had. I've had a lot of guests that help my my listeners as women as as perimenopausal women as as perfectionist women, but I haven't had anyone who helps them as parents, you know, who add a lot of pressure to themselves to be whatever the world says I need to be as a parent. So Gail Hugman, will you tell everyone who you are and what you rock at? Gail Hugman 3:38   I'm Gail Hugman And I have now been teaching for 50 years, and I help children flourish, and I help parents flourish with them. That's my USP. Lesley Logan 4:00   50 years. That's a long time. How did you get into that? Gail Hugman 4:05   I spent 30 years in London schools, and it used to hurt me to watch potential that I didn't have time to develop and I didn't want to be a principal or a head teacher, because the higher I went, the more paper I saw, the fewer children I saw. And my magic happens with the children. And so I decided to leave, and I asked a young teacher, what is it you find most challenging in teaching? He was just starting. I knew I was just leaving, and he said, immediately, motivation. I can get the children to do what they have to do, but I can't get them to want to do it. And I thought, right, that is what I'm going to do. And the journey has been 20 years long now. I have had the privilege of going into people's homes and working out, initially, an assessment for the children, because, to start with, didn't have a clue what I was going to do. I remember my very first client came along and she said to me, Oh, great, you're leaving teaching. Will you be a minder? My son's minder is leaving the school, and they are thinking of excluding him because he doesn't pay attention and he doesn't this. And I thought, I'm not going from almost headship to being someone's minder. And I said, Absolutely not. I said, but I'll teach him to concentrate. And then I thought, What have I just said? Lesley Logan 5:58   The show says, Take messy action, be it till you see it so like that is right there everyone, if you've ever done that, you have done you have been being it till you saw it. Gai

Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. Well, we are two thirds of the way through this month, and the equinox is tomorrow, and it's the spring equinox. And I you know there's all these different rituals you could do. Not gonna tell you about any of them, because go look them up and do the one you want to do, or do nothing and just enjoy it. But like, get outside, you know, check out the moon and take care of yourself, right? Like, truly. So this is the Friday episodes. This is non-interview, non-recap, just me sharing what inspired me that I saw on the internet that I was like, oh, I thought of you, Be It babe. Like, you're like, where do I should think is it's because I'm like, oh, I want to share this with you, my listeners, my favorite like the people who like you send me such great stuff. You send me inspirational stuff. You send me your wins. I so appreciate you send your questions in. Keep them coming beitpod.com/questions is where you can type, send your wins in and your questions. We love answering them on Thursdays. It's really a lot of fun. And then I share a win of mine and wins of yours. We can see that, like, there's good stuff happening. We're making magic happen.  Lesley Logan 1:45   So this is fun. This is responses I've used on Instagram when I don't have the energy. So these are, like, just going to be some answers that you should take from the show notes, copy and paste into your notes, and then text or respond when you don't have the energy to engage with whatever crap is coming at you. So this one, there's a few. Thanks for the message. I'll give that thought the consideration it deserves. So it's so passive aggressive. It's my fave, so petty. Okay, I disagree, but we are working from different levels of education, so I can see how you got to your conclusion. Ah, good. You seem very committed to your current level of understanding. Have a great day. I'm not persuaded. I'll defer to the conclusions that have already been established. That's an interesting perspective. I'm not sure we're operating on the same level of details. I can see why that might seem right to you. However, the facts still stand. I admire how your opinion remains unchanged despite evidence that contradicts it. So I I'm like keeping this save because in standing up for human rights, I've had many people get mad at me and say, just stick to your Pilates. I really like your Pilates, but I don't like your politics. It's like, you don't have to like my politics or like my Pilates, like, I don't, first of all, you're getting most of it for free. So, you know, like, personally, I just want to go f**k off because, like, you're in it for free. Go away. Like, I'm allowed to have my opinion. Clearly, you think you're allowed to have yours. And, like, sometimes our comments can just, like, live rent free in my head, and I get really annoyed by that. I do think that's part of like, my ADHD. At any rate, because of this Dr. Rachel Selman, who has come up with some great responses. I am just going to use these. And I think they're really great, especially the ones where they're like, he was not, he was like, gonna, like, when it was talking about (inaudible) who was gunned down, executed in front of, like, we can see with our eyes, and it's like, people like, people like, that's not what happened. It's like, okay, well, we're obviously operating on different different worlds. You know? It's like, I can see why that might seem right to you. However, the facts still stand. Great response, better response than what I want to do. It's like, Hmm, I just want to tell you. Like, I just want to, not you listener, like the person who has the fills a goal to tell me I just just shut up and dance like, I just want to tell them to f**k off and or this. So I hope you can see how it gets do you understand, like, but you know, right, like some of you are listening and haven't shared how you feel because you're afraid of those comments. And so my hope is that those responses I just gave you give you a little bit of gumption to stand up for what you believe. And it's never too late. It's never too late. It's not we need everybody in this we need everyone. And human rights and due process are not political. They're like, literally how the world should work.  Lesley Logan 4:28   So okay, now for your amazing wins, let me pull them up. Here we go. This one is from jessierodriguezaz. Teaching a successful mat class for Lululemon, but more importantly, looking over and seeing my husband, kids and parents. They're watching and smiling. They're what matters most. Oh my gosh, Jesse, beautiful, wonderful. And I mean, like, ugh, precious. Thank you for sharing that with us. I can just picture it. It's just so beautiful. All right. This one is from pilatesharmony88. More consistent than last week for me. Great. That is a great win. More consistent than last week for me. Wonderful. Good job. Win for you. I love it. Thanks for sharing, because we do need to celebrate that oh, I was better this week than last week. Okay, that's 1% better. Like, why do we have to be perfect? We don't. So send your wins in because I want to, I want to shout them out. I want to shout you out. I want you to remember, like, something that you did for yourself when, like, probably you're listening to something going oh, and then you're like, I had that win last month. Oh, my god, so good.  Lesley Logan 5:28   All right, so here's my win. This is gonna sound ridiculous. So I've been, I was really annoyed with my bank, like, two years ago, they sold again, and I've just been like, I hate this bank. I hate it so much every like, I never use the ATM card, because I rarely ever use an ATM card, and the moment I do it, it's like, you know, somehow compromised. I have to go fight for the money. I have to wait for it to come back. It's so annoying. So I'm only gonna use my credit card with that bank and then just pay the money off, righ

    656. Why Loyalty to a Fault Is Hurting You

Lesley Logan and Brad Crowell unpack a strategically bold conversation with high-performance coach Molly Asplin about the difference between high achievement and overachievement. The discussion also dives into how most people are time-blocking their lives without accounting for their natural energy cycles. Whether you are defending a career you no longer enjoy or waiting for the "perfect time" to pivot, this recap might be the nudge you need to start.   If you have any questions about this episode or want to get some of the resources we mentioned, head over to LesleyLogan.co/podcast https://lesleylogan.co/podcast/. Lesley Logan 0:22   Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. Lesley Logan 1:01   Welcome back to the Be It Till You See It interview recap where my co-host in life, Brad, and I are going to dig into the strategically bold convo I had with Molly Asplin in our last episode. If you haven't yet listened to that interview, you can hit pause and go listen to that one, and then listen to this one. If you like to hear the ending first, I don't blame you. I love that. I do that too.  Brad Crowell 1:23   She literally does that.  Lesley Logan 1:24   I do. I actually tried to get my client today we're talking about the new Love is Blind season. And I was like, I'm only on episode three. She's like, well, I won't ruin it for you, because it's like, obviously she's all the way to Mexico. And those who know Love is Blind know what I'm talking about. And I was like, I don't even remember the names. You could tell what's going on. She's like, No, I don't want to ruin it for you. And I was like, you, I'm gonna Google it like, I know that there's ways to find out who stays together before the recap. So you can ruin it.  Brad Crowell 1:49   Ruin it.  Lesley Logan 1:50   Except for, you know, what?  Brad Crowell 1:52   What?  Lesley Logan 1:52   I thought that I would watch glitter and gold documentary, and I would just be okay, a little late to the Olympics, because, you know, I'll just watch it later. Like, not a big deal. You can just Google it later. And then we were listening to a podcast has nothing to do with sports, and they ruined it.  Brad Crowell 1:53   Oh, I was laughing at you, because you Google everything.  Lesley Logan 1:54   I know, but I hadn't Googled that because I was, like, I was trying to do it the way you wanted me to, and they ruined it. And, you know, when they ruined it, I'm just gonna tell you all in case, I'm gonna ruin it for you now, because you know what it's f*****g March. You should know. I know the villains won like the villains won. Anyways. Brad Crowell 2:30   The villains won.  Lesley Logan 2:31   Today is March 19th 2026, and it's Companies That Care Day. Companies That Care Day celebrate on the third Thursday in March to encourage employers to start caring for their employees instead of overworking or exploiting them. This year, that would be today. Yes, the happier the employees, the more productive they will be. Most importantly, employers must keep in mind that both physical and mental health can have an impact on the performance of workers. Hence, to have a long lasting there's a comma hence, to have a long lasting workforce that can produce quality work, employees must show that they care. This includes celebrating the success of the employees or honoring them in their great contribution to the company. We kick ass. I think, as best we can at this, I also think that if, like, more companies didn't have to make sure their shareholders were happy, they would make sure their employees are happy.  Brad Crowell 3:13   Yeah, I know it's, that's weird, right?  Lesley Logan 3:15   You wanna know what's really weird. I just saw a reel where they asked all the like head CEOs of the top health insurance companies, like, if they're publicly traded, raise your hand. They're all publicly traded. Okay, keep your hand raised if you also own a pharmacy. Keep your hand raised if you also own doctor's offices. So the health insurance companies and the states, of course, they are not only publicly traded, which means they have to make sure that they are doing as what they can for profit margins for their stakeholders, but then they own the doctor's offices who prescribe the prescriptions, that own the pharmacies that fill the prescriptions, which means they're in charge of whatever you pay, whether you pay or not, right? It was abhorrent.  Brad Crowell 3:59   That makes it a monopoly. They own every part of the chain.  Lesley Logan 4:03   Right. Disgusting. Anyway, we.  Brad Crowell 4:03   Fascinating. Capitalism at its finest.  Lesley Logan 4:04   Yeah? And here's the thing I'm not like, if you are a small business owner in this capitalist society, we do have to play with by the rules that are made. Your IRS is going to want to make sure that you are doing something that's profiting every year. Otherwise, they call it a hobby, but in that, there are ways to make sure that your employees are thought of and not overworked. Brad Crowell 4:29   I was gonna say that those guys are breaking the rules or not playing, or they have no rules for their game they're playing. Not cool, but I, but I agree shifting back here to focusing on companies that care. Lesley Logan 4:41   There's things you can do. There's this one female business owner that she forces the company to be closed one week per quarter. It's built into the schedules. They don't have meetings on there. That way, whatever employees need to do, they can do. Obviously, they could take vacation times other times. But like, you know that's gonna compound their work. But they have that to guarantee. The other thing that they have, they have paid family leave for all parents, no matter the gender. And they also have leave if you had to go to a hospital for sickness, things like that. Lik
