Everything I learned at Day One of the Integrative Nurse Coaching Symposium!

Everything I learned at Day One of the Integrative Nurse Coaching Symposium!

This is an absolute brain dump on everything I learned on Day One of the Symposium!

Follow along with some of the trends, definitions and concepts below! (this is also in the show notes 😉)

Mindful Engagement as a baseline way of being: How to approach each interaction with mindfulness and intention. Set clear intentions, speak authentically, and let go of worrying about the outcomes. It's about being present and genuine in every moment.

Just keep going, pls: Success often comes from keeping at it, even when things get tough. Let's embrace our resilience and keep pushing forward, knowing that every setback is just another step toward growth and achievement.

Changing Perspective 👀: Instead of focusing on changing external circumstances, let's focus on changing how we see things. Embrace the journey of personal growth and self-discovery, seeing the world through fresh eyes and gaining new insights along the way.

Well-Becoming as the journey to Well being: Sounds weird, is so real. The idea of "well-becoming," recognizing that wellness is a journey, not a destination. It's about progress, not perfection, and every step forward counts.

Cultural Humility: Instead of just aiming for cultural competence, let's strive for cultural humility. It's about truly understanding and empathizing with different cultures and perspectives, and always being open to learning more.

Compassion Energy 🍯: Rather than just trying to avoid compassion fatigue, let's focus on cultivating compassion energy. By nurturing compassion within ourselves, we can share it with others and make a real difference.

Self-Care vs. Caring for Self: It's important to differentiate between surface-level, tasky, self-care activities and the deeper process of caring for ourselves. Let's foster a compassionate relationship with ourselves and prioritize our well-being in a meaningful way.

The one question that blew my mind: What if you left your work shift healthier and more well than when you arrived???

Immediate Trauma Healing: Addressing traumas or stressors promptly is key for effective healing within the healthcare system. Debriefing right after these events occur can minimize their impact and promote healing.

I loved sharing these insights and I hope you'll tune in to the podcast episode to learn more about each topic and how they can positively impact our lives and work.
