    Nick Cruse is 22 years old. He’s been coaching at Marin Aquatic Masters Swimming for many years, and has been a swimmer his whole life.

    In his youth his mother, Shari, also a swim coach, put him in swim classes on the recomendation of their physician and overcame a case of asthma.

    He’s currently a student at Sonoma State University, studying communications. In college his sport is rowing and has interests in weightlifting, and running, and utilizes the breath with these sports.

    Dr. Paul Emerson is a Biomedical Engineer (Ph.D.) by trade and a practicing yogi in various forms since the 1960s.

    He teaches in yoga teacher training programs, (Himalayan Yoga Teacher Training), specifically focusing on the areas of physiology and breath. 

    He has done research in the area of dialysis as well as helped design various respiratory and implantable cardiac devices. Coincidentally he has been one of the “breath sensor guys” for a large medical devices firm which dovetails with his interest in yoga.

    He is a dynamic resource for details on the functions of anatomy of the respiratory system, and breathing from a scientific point of view.

Your first podcast was so informative and entertaining that I had to listen to the second one right after it. You and your guests share your and their expertise in a manner that is accessible and so timely with all the unprecedented events that we are experiencing in today’s world. With your podcasts, your listeners can understand the important, and often overlooked, nature of breathing and its role in our physical and emotional well-being. And the beauty is that it is entirely within our own control. Your guests are also current practitioners who are available to work with any listeners who may wish to receive personal attention from them. Please continue these novel podcasts.
