Overcoming Addiction, Crime & Sex Work Through Self-Care | Steph Magenta | SCGP: 17 Self-Care Goddess Podcast

    • Health & Fitness

Do you or anyone you know carry the burden of trauma or loss?

As we move through our life unhealed traumas influence our response patterns and if we can’t find that inner peace, we will not heal completely, and end up living a fraction of our potential. Four decades ago, Steph’s life was painful, uncomfortable, filled with addiction and trauma. She was submerged into the world of crime, addiction and sex work. Her tipping point was one out of desperation that eventually led her on a path of healing and transformation.

My podcast conversation with Steph Magenta was a heart-felt true story of overcoming addiction, crime and sex work. She tells us about her struggles as well as her achievements thus far. Steph Magenta, is a Breathwork Facilitator and Teacher, licensed bodywork therapist and shamanic practitioner. She is an award-winning writer and blogger for sexual freedom campaigning and a presenter & curator for two ground breaking conferences in this field. Steph is the co-founder of Integrative Breath school of Breathwork Training.

Steph explains to us how in her evolving practice, she accidentally came across Breathwork. She miraculously replaced one set of addictions with another. She talks to us about her 3 Pillars of Breathwork, and how health does not only encompass the body, mind, emotions but it's all of these holistically interconnected. And the Breath is the anchor, because it's our connection to life, our spirit and our essence.

We discuss the numerous benefits of Breathwork, the mistakes we make when it comes to breathing properly, how to start a breathing practise, cold therapy, and she shares with us her top 3 self-care actions.
