In Aug 2019 after surveying 5 and a half thousand adults, the CDC estimated that anxiety symptoms have tripled and depression symptoms have quadrupled. Similar results were found in a May 2019 survey of pregnant and postpartum mothers; anxiety went from 29% pre-pandemic to 72% and 74% of mothers rated their mental stress as worse than prior to pandemic. Statistics like these often only add to our depression and burn out because they aren’t very helpful.
