    2: A Brief History of Women's Bodies

In this episode of Talking Body, we're looking at some examples throughout history of how women's bodies have been warped, reduced, and reconfigured to suit others. Then, Amy sits down with Dr. Phillippa Diedrichs of the Centre for Appearance Research where she leads a team of researchers at the forefront of understanding body image. She talks us through a ton of questions, and sets a very interesting challenge for Amy by the end of the episode, which we encourage you to take part in as well.

Every Women Needs to Hear This

"Can I love my body and simultaneously want to change it?" That's the questions Amy's digging into in this series. In true Amy Porterfield style, she's thorough, professional, and vulnerable. It's refreshing to hear conversations that previously happened in the silence of our own minds, or behind closed doors with our closest friends. Every women needs to listen to this if for no other reason to have a broadened perspective about body image and self-worth.

Can’t wait to hear more!

I first heard of Amy Porterfield through listening to podcasts hosted by Rachel Hollis and Jenna Kutcher. I was so excited to hear that Amy would be doing a deep dive into this topic in a 12 week series. I can relate to so many of the feelings and thoughts Amy shared in episode 1 and applaud her bravery in talking about it with all of us listeners.

On a side note she has a lovely voice to listen to and I can’t wait to hear the coming episodes!

Oh MY Goddess! Extraordinary

CHILLING. First of all... Amy's decision to do a podcast on bodies while sharing such vulnerability is exquisite. Just listened to episode 2; chills 3 times and tears once. I could SO relate to the talent show experience and feeling SO BAD about my body. Growing up in Southern CA... all spotlights' on us. The production of the podcast is super-cool as well; tight... A+. Love what you've created, Amy. Peaceful healing, Dr. Nicki
