Healing Chronic Illnesses & Finding Freedom with Mêrfleur Wellness Alumni Client Shiloh Woodard

Healing Chronic Illnesses & Finding Freedom with Mêrfleur Wellness Alumni Client Shiloh Woodard

This week we are welcoming an incredibly special guest, a Mêrfleur Wellness Alumni Client, Shiloh Woodard, onto the podcast to share her powerful story of moving through chronic illness and cultivating sustainable health. Shiloh is the embodiment of courage and resilience when it comes to reclaiming your health. She's a vibrant, glowing, and happy soul. It’s beyond inspiring to hear that Shiloh has overcome challenges like a Lyme disease diagnosis, relying on an oxygen tank to breathe, debilitating allergies, and so many other physical and mental symptoms that often left her bedridden. Shiloh brings us into her story and offers the invaluable wisdom she has gained along the way. This episode is here to be a lighthouse, to show you that healing is possible, and that moving out of a deep chronic healing season is an option for you as a Natural Sensitive. There is always hope when it comes to healing in the body. It is easy to become resigned to the new normal as a survival tactic, but Shiloh is here to tell you that you are meant for so much more!

    Discussion Topics

How Shiloh’s perspective on health shifted when she learned about Natural Sensitivity. [00:06:20]
Understanding the survival mechanism of repressing body discomfort and the process of finally acknowledging your Sensitive body's needs. [20:00:00]
The power of working with a wide range of health care practitioners. [00:30:00]
What it looks like to complete a healing season. [01:00:00]

    Quotes
“One thing I have learned on this journey is that every body is different. My diet is not going to be your diet, my medication and my supplement are not going to be the same as yours. There are some similarities because we're human after that, forget it. So, I think the process of learning to trust your unique body is really what healing is about.” - Shiloh Woodard

“Pain is only telling you the truth... With that said, learning to live with pain is a mistake because when you live with something, you ignore it. I think of it more like a child that is screaming. You need to acknowledge that your child is screaming, find out why they are screaming, and then if you can, soothe it.” - Shiloh Woodard

"We're here to learn our unique lessons and we won't learn the lessons unless we feel them. There are lots of people with beautiful hearts that want to heal people but here's the problem… if you don't allow a person to experience their struggles, you are robbing from them the joy and the greatness that they can become.” - Shiloh Woodard

She provides three powerful recommendations that will leave you encouraged, inspired, and focused. Learn how Jessi is pursuing her dreams and how you can too! Grab a tea and get cozy because this episode is about to ignite your sensitive soul!

    Discussion Topics

Why is it vital to honor your natural sensitivity as you pursue your big dreams. [00:08:00]
How to remain true to yourself and your vision during the pursuit. [00:25:00]
How to create a foundational rhythm to retain vibrant health through it all! [00:35:00]

    Quotes
“The more you honor your sensitivity, the more you’re honouring the dream.”

“Learning how to implement your authenticity in real life is about embracing risk, not just in the actions of pursuing the dream, but in the actions of how you choose to live your entire life. It's all related."

“It’s important that you understand how it is that you are wired to go about reaching your dream. Just because someone did it a certain way doesn’t mean that’s how you are supposed to do it. You have to check back in and ask who am I? What are my gifting? What are my natural tendencies? What makes me thrive? How can I marry these things with the dream that I have?”

“The beauty of our homes is that we have the ability to control our environment but we can’t control everything outside of our home. A Vulnerable Heart Share on Hermitness & Relationships

A Vulnerable Heart Share on Hermitness & Relationships

This week Jessi is sharing a very personal episode around healthy introversion and relationships. She opens up about how she navigates relational expectations from others as a solo-time loving Natural Sensitive. If you too need seasons of healthy ‘hermiting’ as we like to call it then you know it can be a very difficult aspect of life to explain or even consistently honor. Choosing to intentionally live as you're uniquely wired is daunting when 99% of the population isn’t going to understand your boundaries and needs. We are here to tell you that you are not alone! Jessi shares the lessons learned from a lifetime of wobbling between people-pleasing and her own needs and desires. Despite the current societal perspectives, choosing to spend your life or chapters of your life with a very small inner circle can be an incredibly delightful and peaceful way to live. Even more importantly, if this is how you're wired to function, fighting against it for the sake of other people's wants will only drain you and prevent you from living out your true purpose on this earth. We hope this episode inspires and empowers all our fellow hermit Natural Sensitives!

    Discussion Topics

Navigating friendships as someone who does not have the capacity for frequent and consistent engagement. [00:06:00]
Recognizing when a relationship is not nourishing you and how to release with gentleness. [00:18:00]
Why seasons of isolation are not a sign of unhealth and how to honor the natural ebbs and flows of your social capacity. [00:32:00]

    Quotes
“The hardest line to walk of my entire existence is learning how to love someone while not over-committing to them.”

“Living authentically doesn't give you permission to say screw other people they need to figure me out on their own. That is true selfishness. For me, it's about honoring and respecting who I am while also recognizing that 99.9% of people are different from me and being gracious and kind enough to put myself in their shoes and to then find the right words to communicate to them who I am so that they're don’t get hurt.”

“I am proposing that it is quite possible to be healthy while having little engagement with others.”

How to Safely Drop Into Your Sensitive Body Through Somatic Systems with Manisha Tare

How to Safely Drop Into Your Sensitive Body Through Somatic Systems with Manisha Tare

Have you struggled to feel connected and "in" your body? This is a common experience for us Natural Sensitives. We love the ethereal, the spiritual, the mental, but from a young age were taught to reject the emotional, the body. To uncover natural ways to support and care for our sensitive bodies, Jessi sits down with Embodiment Coach & HSP Mentor, Manisha Tare. Manisha specializes in HSPs/Natural Sensitives and as a result her toolbox is full of somatic therapies that will easily bring you and I back into our bodies! During this conversation, we learn why somatic (body-focused) therapies can be the quickest and most effective ways to reconnect to ourselves. From yoga to craniosacral to parts work to simple emotional witness work, Jessi and Manisha discuss why body-based approaches are easier and more transformative for Natural Sensitives than traditional talk therapy. Somatic therapy has also received a lot of limelight recently on social media, so Manisha and Jessi clarify how you can navigate the various opinions and styles, and ultimately know who to trust with your own journey. Manisha is a gifted sensitive healer. We are thrilled to introduce you to her profound and sweet spirit!

“A lot of unresolved emotions and trauma come from attachment issues or early childhood trauma. It’s all very relational. As we understand this and get to the root, we can clear major charges from our nervous system. This shifts our physiology and nervous system so that you can relate to people and situations in present time without the baggage of the past.” – Manisha Tare

“I am here to help people recognize their story and drop into their bodies for the answers. So often that we just try to figure things out in our minds when in reality the fastest answers and the fastest resolution comes from being able to drop into the body.” – Manisha Tare

Ashley Deer ,

51 years old and finally…

having vocabulary, definition and understanding that God created me as a sensitive 🤩 i always knew there was something special but through recent literature, Jessi’s amazing podcasts, I have a new pep in my step and a lot more tools in my tool belt. my daughter in love shared that my grandson is also a sensitive and this is how my journey began… a friend who is also a sensitive pointed me to Jessi’s podcast and my world is forever changed for the better! finding my purpose, living my authentic self and praising God for fearfully and wonderfully making me… ME as a sensitive. also learning about being an empath!!!! life changing to finally understand this and how to navigate through life is gonna be healing and empowering. these podcasts will give you such depth with her soothing delivery, her beautiful truths are transforming. i also love her ability to throw in a swear word for emphasis in a non threatening but humorous (to me) way, her encouragement to go it at your own pace is comforting and freeing. praying you enjoy also!

Safe Haven for Sensitives

I am so very grateful for this podcast! It’s so encouraging to hear from someone who gets it- the need to take care of our sensitive spirits in a culture that is not often conducive to our needs. Jessi’s words are a safe haven of compassion, keen insight, and gentle solutions. Highly recommend if you are a fellow sensitive, or are looking to understand a loved one better.
