While fathers are under new scrutiny as a result of changing gender norms, political ideologies, religious interpretations, and family dynamics, arguably no men are feeling the pinch and stress more than Black fathers who are often caught between the expectations of the dominant group and the mothers of their children. If talking about mental health is difficult, as an extension, discussing parental stress and racism presents dilemmas few people are prepared to address.
