Dr. Gabrielle Lyon show

I have listened to a few of the shows but this one with Dr. Gabrielle Lyon really hit home for me! She is a proponent of high protein diets and building and maintaining muscle for longevity. Takeaways: even someone like me who is a 58 year old male should be consuming 30-50 grams of protein per meal. In fact, it is more critical for older adults to eat high levels of protein. That is NOT what I had previously thought. It would explain why most adults in the U.S. are not healthy. Refined carbs, processed foods and prescription medications are common today. I was shocked at the amount of protein given to U.S. troops during WW II-240 grams per day! Oh, and the average size of the soldiers was under 150 pounds. Amazing! I’m now subscribed to the podcast and look forward to many more great ones.
