How Alisa Vitti Naturally Reversed PCOS and Helps Women Heal Their Hormones
When Alisa Vitti started college at Johns Hopkins University, she didn’t just gain the “Freshman 15,” she put on 60 pounds. Her acne went from mild, teenage breakouts to full-blown cystic acne and she developed severe insomnia, anxiety, and depression. The symptoms were triggered by hormonal issues, which also led to her only getting her period 6 times in a decade. After seven years of trying to get a diagnosis, she realized she had to figure something out herself. She found a journal of obstetrics and gynecology in the school library, which led her to polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Listen to her remarkable story of how she reversed her PCOS and then dedicated her life and career to helping women heal hormonal issues. Topics include: Why PMS shouldn’t be a joke, why your period while taking the pill really isn’t a period, how hormonal birth control affects future fertility, how being on the pill covers up pre-existing conditions, the alarming rise of precocious puberty, the importance of addressing hormonal issues when you’re young, how meal timing affects the endocrine system, what your period blood can tell you, and much, much more. Customer ReviewsSee All
As someone who has just within the last year started to take over her health and chronic health issues, this podcast has so many insightful things that I am so grateful to have come across! I have endometriosis and was told I’d need surgery every five years and be on birth control most of my life the day I was diagnosed. Within six months, that doctor wanted to do another surgery. I found someone who I consider a patient advocate and she helped me convince my parents to fly from Denver to Dallas to have surgery with a specialist after another self proclaimed specialist put me on a medication that put me in menopause at 16 (one I have since found out is ONLY supposed to be for menopausal women and a chemo drug for breast cancer). The surgeon said my first doctors did more harm than good. 8 years later I’ve had 5 surgeries for endometriosis and while my last one almost 2 years ago has helped immensely, if I can fend off more surgeries naturally and heal my body from the inside out, that’s what I want to do! I’m so grateful to have found this podcast not only because Adrienne talks a lot about health issues I personally struggle with (Endometriosis, PCOS, fibromyalgia, and chronic migraines to name a few), but her other episodes are giving me insight on how to overall be healthy too, not just how to help my symptoms. I use Young Living, but I can’t wait to get access to the nontoxic product list on the WellBe website! All this to say, this is a GREAT podcast that is so helpful in everyday life!
I’m loving this podcast, such a great mixture of mind body and spirit. I really appreciate how you hone in on science in the wellness community. Helpful with clarity around different treatments and modalities, we need more clarity and less confusion! Great place to find some guidance!
This podcast has been a big help in my journey to a cleaner and healthier lifestyle! Thank you for all the research and facts that you make available!
