Exercise and Menopause - With Dr. Wendy Sweet

Exercise and Menopause - With Dr. Wendy Sweet

There is a lot of information available about dealing with menopause - some of it confusing and some of it contentious.
In this episode, we invited Menopause expert, Dr Wendy Sweet, back onto our show to talk more specifically about exercise and menopause - what happens to our bodies when we exercise during menopause and what type of exercise should we be aiming to sustain?
Dr Wendy Sweet is the founder of “My Menopause Transformation,” where she works with women globally to support them through the menopause transition.
Wendy is a former registered nurse and was one of the early drivers of personalised training within the fitness industry.  She went on to do her Masters in Lifestyle Behaviour and a Ph.D. in nutrition and healthy aging.
As part of her Menopause Transformation programme, Wendy has developed a range of personalised programmes for women going through perimenopause and menopause – acknowledging that every woman is different and will approach these years with different health states and different levels of knowledge about what their bodies are going through and the changes they can make to make life easier.

Moving for those with chronic pain

Moving for those with chronic pain

In this episode of Wellness for the Rest of Us we speak with DK Ciccone, a certified pilates instructor for chronic pain and rehabilitation.
Since CK was 13 years old, she has battled with her own chronic pain with no root cause.  Just when she felt she would never find joy in movement, she discovered pilates.
Pilates helped her manage her own pain and find a sense of freedom in her body that she hadn't felt in years.
Her mission became finding ways to help others find the same joy and freedom trough improving strength and mobility.
For CK, and like many others, chronic pain will always be part of her story, but how she manages it and lives with it now, can be an inspiration to others.

    Fancy living to 500?

In this Wellness for the Rest of Us podcast episode, we speak with longevity advocate, Marek Piotrowski.
Marek is currently on a quest, he is traveling around the world, with his son Alex to explore the frontiers of research and thinking around longevity and radical life extension.
Longevity is on the brink of becoming one of the world's most rapidly expanding industries. Over the past eight years, it has steadily gained momentum, championed by a dedicated group of pioneers. Yet, the general public has mostly regarded it as wellness, peculiar, or science fiction.
Today, longevity is transforming into a tangible reality. A growing number of start ups and major players are joining forces with esteemed scientists, and research labs, propelling the field forward.
Marek and his son are touring the world for one year, searching for the best solutions that would ultimately help us live to 500 or longer... and their intent is to also have a whole lot of fun along the way.

Mighty Mateo ,

OMG, it’s awesome!

Health podcast that isn’t all fluff or jargon. It’s hard to find information presented in a way you can understand but also that isn’t patronizing. Thank you Anna and Darcy.
