In this episode, Nicole Blanche Guerin interviewed John Ervin. John is a doctoral candidate in strategic leadership with an emphasis in idealized design strategic consulting and systems thinking. His doctoral thesis research focuses on innovations in the cannabis and industrial hemp industry. As an experienced healthcare entrepreneur, his success has been augmented through experiences including the airline industry, the Department of Homeland Security, insurance and financial services, and the medical device industry.

John is an accomplished senior leader and former military officer with executive expertise in nationally ranked healthcare organizations, with extensive success in consulting, strategic planning, operations and innovation. He is sSkilled in performing in complex environments with product and loss, profitability, growth and revenue responsibilities. Adept at executive coaching and developing healthcare professionals and entrepreneurs., John has provided coaching and mentoring to several healthcare startups, including Avicenna, Minimelife and Health Connect.

John is currently an advisor to Skills4Industry, an educational technology provider to businesses and individuals, and V for Victory, a non-profit company.

Born in Camden, NJ as a foster child and raised in Gloucester City, NJ, John earned a B.S. in Liberal Arts in Biology from Excelsior University, Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Villanova University, MBA in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Northeastern University, Project Management Program Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute, Executive Certificate in Healthcare Operations from Harvard T Chan’s School of Public Health, Graduate Certificate in Lean Healthcare Operations from Thomas Jefferson University, Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Policy from George Mason University, and is a Certified Professional Life Coach from The Fowler International Academy of Professional Coaching.
