    ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ dhanaasaree mahalaa panjavaa || Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehla: ਵਡੇ ਵਡੇ ਰਾਜਨ ਅਰੁ ਭੂਮਨ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਨ ਬੂਝੀ ॥ vadde vadde raajan ar bhooman taa kee tirasan na boojhee || (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ) ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਹਨ, ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਜ਼ਿਮੀਦਾਰ ਹਨ, (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ The desires of the greatest of the great kings and landlords cannot be satisfied. ਲਪਟਿ ਰਹੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਤੇ ਲੋਚਨ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਸੂਝੀ ॥੧॥ lapaT rahe maiaa ra(n)g maate lochan kachhoo na soojhee ||1|| ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਕੌਤਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਬੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ । (ਮਾਇਆ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਹੋਰ ਕੁਝ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਖੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ।੧। They remain engrossed in Maya, intoxicated with the pleasures of their wealth; their eyes see nothing else at all. ||1|| ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਹਿ ਕਿਨ ਹੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥ bikhiaa meh kin hee tirapat na paiee || ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਵਿਚ (ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ, No one has ever found satisfaction in sin and corruption. ਜਿਉ ਪਾਵਕੁ ਈਧਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਧ੍ਰਾਪੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਹਾ ਅਘਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jiau paavak ieedhan nahee dhraapai bin har kahaa aghaiee || rahaau || ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅੱਗ ਬਾਲਣ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਜਦੀ । ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਦੇ ਰੱਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ । ਰਹਾਉ। The flame is not satisfied by more fuel; how can one be satisfied without the Lord? ||Pause|| ਦਿਨੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਕਰਤ ਭੋਜਨ ਬਹੁ ਬਿੰਜਨ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਮਿਟੈ ਨ ਭੂਖਾ ॥ dhin dhin karat bhojan bahu bi(n)jan taa kee miTai na bhookhaa || ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਖਾਣੇ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਖਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੀ) ਭੁੱਖ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ । Day after day, he eats his meals with many different foods, but his hunger is not eradicated. ਉਦਮੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੁਆਨ ਕੀ ਨਿਆਈ ਚਾਰੇ ਕੁੰਟਾ ਘੋਖਾ ॥੨॥ audham karai suaan kee niaaiee chaare ku(n)Taa ghokhaa ||2|| ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਖਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੁੱਤੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਦੌੜ-ਭੱਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਭਾਲਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨। He runs around like a dog, searching in the four directions. ||2|| ਕਾਮਵੰਤ ਕਾਮੀ ਬਹੁ ਨਾਰੀ ਪਰ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਜੋਹ ਨ ਚੂਕੈ ॥ kaamava(n)t kaamee bahu naaree par gireh joh na chookai || ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕਾਮ-ਵੱਸ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਸ਼ਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀਆਂ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕਿਤਨੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਹੋਣ, ਪਰਾਏ ਘਰ ਵਲ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮੰਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਟਦੀ । The lustful, lecherous man desires many women, and he never stops peeking into the homes of others. ਦਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਕਰੈ ਕਰੈ ਪਛੁਤਾਪੈ ਸੋਗ ਲੋਭ ਮਹਿ ਸੂਕੈ ॥੩॥ dhin prat karai karai pachhutaapai sog lobh meh sookai ||3|| ਉਹ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ (ਵਿਸ਼ੇ-ਪਾਪ) ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਪਛੁਤਾਂਦਾ (ਭੀ) ਹੈ । ਸੋ, ਇਸ ਕਾਮ-ਵਾਸਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਅਤੇ ਪਛੁਤਾਵੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੁੱਕਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੩ Day after day, he commits adultery again and again, and then he regrets his actions; he wastes away in misery and greed. ||3|| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਪਾਰ ਅਮੋਲਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਏਕੁ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥ har har naam apaar amolaa a(n)mirat ek nidhaanaa || ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਇਕ ਐਸਾ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਤੇ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is incomparable and priceless; it is the treasure of Ambrosial Nectar. ਸੂਖੁ ਸਹਜੁ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜਾਨਾ ॥੪॥੬॥ sookh sahaj aana(n)dh sa(n)tan kai naanak gur te jaanaa ||4||6|| । ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।੪।੬। The Saints abide in peace, poise and bliss; O Nanak, through the Guru, this is known. ||4||6|| Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Raag Dhanaasree - 672

    ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੧ ॥ salok mahalaa pehilaa || Shalok: First Mehla: ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੀਖਿਆ ਦੇਹਿ ਮੈ ਤੂੰ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਥੁ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ॥ satigur bheekhiaa dheh mai too(n) sa(n)mrath dhaataar || ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਤੂੰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੈਰ ਪਾ (‘ਨਾਮ’ ਦਾ), O True Guru, bless me with Your charity; You are the All-powerful Giver. ਹਉਮੈ ਗਰਬੁ ਨਿਵਾਰੀਐ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ॥ haumai garab nivaareeaai kaam karodh aha(n)kaar || ਮੇਰੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਕਾਮ ਤੇ ਕੋ੍ਰਧ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ । May I subdue and quiet my egotism, pride, sexual desire, anger and self-conceit. ਲਬੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਪਰਜਾਲੀਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥ lab lobh parajaaleeaai naam milai aadhaar || (ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਲਈ) ਸਹਾਰਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਚਸਕਾ ਤੇ ਲੋਭ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੜ ਜਾਏ । Burn away all my greed, and give me the Support of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਨਵਤਨ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਮੈਲਾ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥ ahinis navatan niramalaa mailaa kabahoo(n) na hoi || ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਨਵੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਵਾਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ ਜਪੀਏ, ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਧਦਾ ਹੈ) ‘ਨਾਮ’ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਕਦੇ ਮੈਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ (ਤਾਹੀਏਂ), Day and night, keep me ever-fresh and new, spotless and pure; let me never be soiled by sin. ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਛੁਟੀਐ ਨਦਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ naanak ieh bidh chhuTeeaai nadhar teree sukh hoi ||1|| ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ‘ਨਾਮ’ ਜਪਿਆਂ (ਹਉਮੈ ਦੇ) ਗੇੜ ਤੋਂ ਬਚੀਦਾ ਹੈ । ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਇਹ ਸੁਖ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧। O Nanak, in this way I am saved; by Your Grace, I have found peace. ||1|| ਮਃ ੧ ॥ mahalaa pehilaa || First Mehla: ਇਕੋ ਕੰਤੁ ਸਬਾਈਆ ਜਿਤੀ ਦਰਿ ਖੜੀਆਹ ॥ eiko ka(n)t sabaieeaa jitee dhar khaReeaaeh || ਜਿਤਨੀਆਂ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਤੇ ਖਲੋਤੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ । ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈ । There is only the one Husband Lord, for all who stand at His Door. ਨਾਨਕ ਕੰਤੈ ਰਤੀਆ ਪੁਛਹਿ ਬਾਤੜੀਆਹ ॥੨॥ naanak ka(n)tai rateeaa puchheh baataReeaaeh ||2|| ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਮੋਹਣੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ (ਇਕ ਦੂਜੀ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਪੁੱਛਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ।੨। O Nanak, they ask for news of their Husband Lord, from those who are imbued with His Love. ||2|| ਮਃ ੧ ॥ mahalaa pehilaa || First Mehla: ਸਭੇ ਕੰਤੈ ਰਤੀਆ ਮੈ ਦੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਕਿਤੁ ॥ sabhe ka(n)tai rateeaa mai dhohaagan kit || ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਮ੍ਹਣੇ) ਮੈਂ ਮੰਦੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਕਿਸ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਹਾਂ? All are imbued with love for their Husband Lord; I am a discarded bride - what good am I? ਮੈ ਤਨਿ ਅਵਗਣ ਏਤੜੇ ਖਸਮੁ ਨ ਫੇਰੇ ਚਿਤੁ ॥੩॥ mai tan avagan etaRe khasam na fere chit ||3|| ਮੇਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਇਤਨੇ ਔਗੁਣ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਖਸਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ।੩। My body is filled with so many faults; my Lord and Master does not even turn His thoughts to me. ||3|| ਮਃ ੧ ॥ mahalaa pehilaa || First Mehla: ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਜਿਨਾ ਦੈ ਵਾਤਿ ॥ hau balihaaree tin kau sifat jinaa dhai vaat || ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਹੈ । I am a sacrifice to those who praise the Lord with their mouths. ਸਭਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਇਕ ਮੈ ਦੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਰਾਤਿ ॥੪॥ sabh raatee sohaaganee ik mai dhohaagan raat ||4|| All the nights are for the happy soul-brides; I am a discarded bride - if only I could have even one night with Him! ||4|| ਪਉੜੀ ॥ pauRee || Pauree: ਦਰਿ ਮੰਗਤੁ ਜਾਚੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਜੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ॥ dhar ma(n)gat jaachai dhaan har dheejai kirapaa kar || I am a beggar at Your Door, begging for charity; O Lord, please grant me Your Mercy, and give to me. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ॥ guramukh leh milai jan paavai naam har || As Gurmukh, unite me, your humble servant, with You, that I may receive Your Name. ਅਨਹਦ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਜਾਇ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਧਰਿ ॥ anahadh sabadh vajai jotee jot dhar || Then, the unstruck melody of the Shabad will vibrate and resound, and my light will blend with the Light. ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਜੈ ਜੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਹਰਿ ॥ hiradhai har gun gai jai jai sabadh har || Within my heart, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and celebrate the Word of the Lord's Shabad. ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਆਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਰਿ ॥੧੫॥ jag meh varatai aap har setee preet kar ||15|| The Lord Himself is pervading and permeating the world; so fall in love with Him! ||15|| Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Raag Soohee - 790

    ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ salok mahalaa teejaa || Shalok, Third Mehla: ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਫਲੁ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਕੋ ਕਰੇ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥ satigur kee sevaa safal hai je ko kare chit lai || ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਚਿੱਤ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ (ਦੱਸੀ) ਸੇਵਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਫਲ ਲਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ; Service to the True Guru is fruitful and rewarding, if one performs it with his mind focused on it. ਮਨਿ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵਣਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥ man chi(n)dhiaa fal paavanaa haumai vichahu jai || ਮਨ-ਇੱਛਿਆ ਫਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ; The fruits of the mind's desires are obtained, and egotism departs from within. ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋੜੈ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਸਚੇ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥ ba(n)dhan toRai mukat hoi sache rahai samai || ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜਦੀ ਹੈ (ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਹਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਮਾਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ । His bonds are broken, and he is liberated; he remains absorbed in the True Lord. ਇਸੁ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਲਭੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥ eis jag meh naam alabh hai guramukh vasai man aai || ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੁਰਲੱਭ ਹੈ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ It is so difficult to obtain the Naam in this world; it comes to dwell in the mind of the Gurmukh. ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥੧॥ naanak jo gur seveh aapanaa hau tin balihaarai jaau ||1|| ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—) ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ।੧। O Nanak, I am a sacrifice to one who serves his True Guru. ||1|| ਮਃ ੩ ॥ mahalaa teejaa || Third Mehla: ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੰਨੁ ਅਜਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਦੂਜੈ ਲਗੈ ਜਾਇ ॥ manamukh ma(n)n ajit hai dhoojai lagai jai || ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ; The mind of the self-willed manmukh is so very stubborn; it is stuck in the love of duality. ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਸੁਪਨੈ ਨਹੀ ਦੁਖੇ ਦੁਖਿ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥ tis no sukh supanai nahee dhukhe dhukh vihai || ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਸੁਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ, (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ) ਸਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਗੁਜ਼ਰਦੀ ਹੈ । He does not find peace, even in dreams; he passes his life in misery and suffering. ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਥਕੇ ਸਿਧ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਗਾਇ ॥ ghar ghar paR paR pa(n)ddit thake sidh samaadh lagai || ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਲੋਕ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਧ ਸਮਾਧੀਆਂ ਲਾ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਥੱਕ ਗਏ ਹਨ, The Pandits have grown weary of going door to door, reading and reciting their scriptures; the Siddhas have gone into their trances of Samaadhi. ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਵਸਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਥਕੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਇ ॥ eih man vas na aaviee thake karam kamai || ਕਈ ਕਰਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਥੱਕ ਗਏ ਹਨ; (ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਨਾਲ ਤੇ ਸਮਾਧੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ) ਇਹ ਮਨ ਕਾਬੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ । This mind cannot be controlled; they are tired of performing religious rituals. ਪਉੜੀ ॥ pauRee || Pauree: ਏਹ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਰਾਣੇ ਰੰਗ ਦਿਨ ਚਾਰਿ ਸੁਹਾਵਣਾ ॥ eh bhoopat raane ra(n)g dhin chaar suhaavanaa || The pleasures of kings and emperors are pleasing, but they last for only a few days. ਏਹੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਰੰਗੁ ਕਸੁੰਭ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਵਣਾ ॥ eh maiaa ra(n)g kasu(n)bh khin meh leh jaavanaa || These pleasures of Maya are like the color of the safflower, which wears off in a moment. ਚਲਦਿਆ ਨਾਲਿ ਨ ਚਲੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਪਾਪ ਲੈ ਜਾਵਣਾ ॥ chaladhiaa naal na chalai sir paap lai jaavanaa || They do not go with him when he departs; instead, he carries the load of sins upon his head. ਜਾਂ ਪਕੜਿ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਕਾਲਿ ਤਾਂ ਖਰਾ ਡਰਾਵਣਾ ॥ jaa(n) pakaR chalaiaa kaal taa(n) kharaa ddaraavanaa || When death seizes him, and marches him away, then he looks absolutely hideous. ਓਹ ਵੇਲਾ ਹਥਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਵਣਾ ॥੬॥ oh velaa hath na aavai fir pachhutaavanaa ||6|| That lost opportunity will not come into his hands again, and in the end, he regrets and repents. ||6|| Guru Amar Daas Ji in Raag Sorath - 644,645

By The Grace Of The True Guru: ਮੁਕੰਦ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਜਪਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰ ॥ muka(n)dh muka(n)dh japahu sa(n)saar || ਹੇ ਲੋਕੋ! ਮੁਕਤੀ-ਦਾਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰੋ, Meditate on the Lord Mukanday, the Liberator, O people of the world. ਬਿਨੁ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਤਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਅਉਹਾਰ ॥ bin muka(n)dh tan hoi aauhaar || ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ । Without Mukanday, the body shall be reduced to ashes. ਸੋਈ ਮੁਕੰਦੁ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ॥ soiee muka(n)dh mukat kaa dhaataa || ਮੇਰਾ ਤਾਂ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈ, Mukanday is the Giver of liberation. ਸੋਈ ਮੁਕੰਦੁ ਹਮਰਾ ਪਿਤ ਮਾਤਾ ॥੧॥ soiee muka(n)dh hamaraa pit maataa ||1|| ਉਹੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧। Mukanday is my father and mother. ||1|| ਜੀਵਤ ਮੁਕੰਦੇ ਮਰਤ ਮੁਕੰਦੇ ॥ jeevat muka(n)dhe marat muka(n)dhe || ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਅਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, Meditate on Mukanday in life, and meditate on Mukanday in death. ਤਾ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ taa ke sevak kau sadhaa ana(n)dhe ||1|| rahaau || ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਜਿਊਂਦਾ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮਰਦਾ ਭੀ ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ) ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ। His servant is blissful forever. ||1||Pause|| ਮੁਕੰਦ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੰ ॥ muka(n)dh muka(n)dh hamaare praana(n) || ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ (ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ) ਹੈ, The Lord, Mukanday, is my breath of life. ਜਪਿ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਨੀਸਾਨੰ ॥ jap muka(n)dh masatak neesaana(n) || ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗ ਪਏ ਹਨ; Meditating on Mukanday, one's forehead will bear the Lord's insignia of approval. ਸੇਵ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਕਰੈ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ॥ sev muka(n)dh karai bairaagee || ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਵੈਰਾਗਵਾਨ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ, The renunciate serves Mukanday. ਸੋਈ ਮੁਕੰਦੁ ਦੁਰਬਲ ਧਨੁ ਲਾਧੀ ॥੨॥ soiee muka(n)dh dhurabal dhan laadhee ||2|| ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗ਼ਰੀਬ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਧਨ ਲੱਭ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ।੨। Mukanday is the wealth of the poor and forlorn. ||2|| ਏਕੁ ਮੁਕੰਦੁ ਕਰੈ ਉਪਕਾਰੁ ॥ ek muka(n)dh karai aupakaar || ਜੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ, When the One Liberator does me a favor, ਹਮਰਾ ਕਹਾ ਕਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥ hamaraa kahaa karai sa(n)saar || ਤਾਂ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚਮਾਰ ਚਮਾਰ ਆਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਇਹ) ਲੋਕ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਵਿਗਾੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ । then what can the world do to me? ਮੇਟੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਹੂਏ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥ meTee jaat hooe dharabaar || ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਨੇ) ਮੇਰੀ (ਨੀਵੀਂ) ਜਾਤ (ਵਾਲੀ ਢਹਿੰਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ; Erasing my social status, I have entered His Court. ਤੁਹੀ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਜੋਗ ਜੁਗ ਤਾਰਿ ॥੩॥ tuhee muka(n)dh jog jug taar ||3|| ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੁਥਾਜੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ।੩। You, Mukanday, are potent throughout the four ages. ||3|| ਉਪਜਿਓ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਹੂਆ ਪਰਗਾਸ ॥ aupajio giaan hooaa paragaas || (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ । Spiritual wisdom has welled up, and I have been enlightened. ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਲੀਨੇ ਕੀਟ ਦਾਸ ॥ kar kirapaa leene keeT dhaas || ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ । In His Mercy, the Lord has made this worm His slave. ਕਹੁ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਅਬ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਚੂਕੀ ॥ kahu ravidhaas ab tirasanaa chookee || ਹੇ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ! ਆਖ—ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਈ ਹੈ, Says Ravi Daas, now my thirst is quenched; ਜਪਿ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਸੇਵਾ ਤਾਹੂ ਕੀ ॥੪॥੧॥ jap muka(n)dh sevaa taahoo kee ||4||1|| ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਨਿੱਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।੪।੧। I meditate on Mukanday the Liberator, and I serve Him. ||4||1|| Bhagat Ravi Daas Ji in Raag Gond - 875

    ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ਘਰੁ ੯ soohee mahalaa pehilaa ghar nauvaa Soohee, First Mehla, Ninth House: ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ikOankaar satigur prasaadh || One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: ਕਚਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਕਸੁੰਭ ਕਾ ਥੋੜੜਿਆ ਦਿਨ ਚਾਰਿ ਜੀਉ ॥ kachaa ra(n)g kasu(n)bh kaa thoRaRiaa dhin chaar jeeau || The color of safflower is transitory; it lasts for only a few days. ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭੁਲੀਆ ਠਗਿ ਮੁਠੀ ਕੂੜਿਆਰਿ ਜੀਉ ॥ vin naavai bhram bhuleeaa ttag muttee kooRiaar jeeau || Without the Name, the false woman is deluded by doubt and plundered by thieves. ਸਚੇ ਸੇਤੀ ਰਤਿਆ ਜਨਮੁ ਨ ਦੂਜੀ ਵਾਰ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ sache setee ratiaa janam na dhoojee vaar jeeau ||1|| But those who are attuned to the True Lord, are not reincarnated again. ||1|| ਰੰਗੇ ਕਾ ਕਿਆ ਰੰਗੀਐ ਜੋ ਰਤੇ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥ ra(n)ge kaa kiaa ra(n)geeaai jo rate ra(n)g lai jeeau || How can one who is already dyed in the color of the Lord's Love, be colored any other color? ਰੰਗਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਸਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ So serve God the Dyer, and focus your consciousness on the True Lord. ||1||Pause|| ਚਾਰੇ ਕੁੰਡਾ ਜੇ ਭਵਹਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਾਗਾ ਧਨੁ ਨਾਹਿ ਜੀਉ ॥ You wander around in the four directions, but without the good fortune of destiny, you shall never obtain wealth. ਅਵਗਣਿ ਮੁਠੀ ਜੇ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਬਧਿਕ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਪਾਹਿ ਜੀਉ ॥ If you are plundered by corruption and vice, you shall wander around, but like a fugitive, you shall find no place of rest. ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਸੇ ਉਬਰੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ Only those who are protected by the Guru are saved; their minds are attuned to the Word of the Shabad. ||2|| ਚਿਟੇ ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਕਪੜੇ ਮੈਲੇ ਚਿਤ ਕਠੋਰ ਜੀਉ ॥| Those who wear white clothes, but have filthy and stone-hearted minds, ਤਿਨ ਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਊਪਜੈ ਦੂਜੈ ਵਿਆਪੇ ਚੋਰ ਜੀਉ ॥ may chant the Lord's Name with their mouths, but they are engrossed in duality; they are thieves. ਮੂਲੁ ਨ ਬੂਝਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੇ ਪਸੂਆ ਸੇ ਢੋਰ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥ They do not understand their own roots; they are beasts. They are just animals! ||3|| ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਖੁਸੀਆ ਮਨੁ ਕਰੇ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਮੰਗੈ ਸੁਖ ਜੀਉ ॥ Constantly, continually, the mortal seeks pleasures. Constantly, continually, he begs for peace. ਕਰਤਾ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਲਗਹਿ ਦੁਖ ਜੀਉ ॥ But he does not think of the Creator Lord, and so he is overtaken by pain, again and again. ਸੁਖ ਦੁਖ ਦਾਤਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਤਿਤੁ ਤਨਿ ਕੈਸੀ ਭੁਖ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥ But one, within whose mind the Giver of pleasure and pain dwells - how can his body feel any need? ||4|| ਬਾਕੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਤਲਬੀਐ ਸਿਰਿ ਮਾਰੇ ਜੰਦਾਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥ One who has a karmic debt to pay off is summoned, and the Messenger of Death smashes his head. ਲੇਖਾ ਮੰਗੈ ਦੇਵਣਾ ਪੁਛੈ ਕਰਿ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥ When his account is called for, it has to be given. After it is reviewed, payment is demanded. ਸਚੇ ਕੀ ਲਿਵ ਉਬਰੈ ਬਖਸੇ ਬਖਸਣਹਾਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੫॥ Only love for the True One will save you; the Forgiver forgives. ||5|| ਅਨ ਕੋ ਕੀਜੈ ਮਿਤੜਾ ਖਾਕੁ ਰਲੈ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥ If you make any friend other than God, you shall die and mingle with the dust. ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗ ਦੇਖਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਭੁਲਿ ਭੁਲਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥ Gazing upon the many games of love, you are beguiled and bewildered; you come and go in reincarnation. ਨਦਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੇ ਛੁਟੀਐ ਨਦਰੀ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੬॥ Only by God's Grace can you be saved. By His Grace, He unites in His Union. ||6|| ਗਾਫਲ ਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਹੂਣਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਨ ਭਾਲਿ ਜੀਉ ॥ O careless one, you are totally lacking any wisdom; do not seek wisdom without the Guru. ਖਿੰਚੋਤਾਣਿ ਵਿਗੁਚੀਐ ਬੁਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਦੁਇ ਨਾਲਿ ਜੀਉ ॥ By indecision and inner conflict, you shall come to ruin. Good and bad both pull at you. ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਭੈ ਰਤਿਆ ਸਭ ਜੋਹੀ ਜਮਕਾਲਿ ਜੀਉ ॥੭॥ Without being attuned to the Word of the Shabad and the Fear of God, all come under the gaze of the Messenger of Death. ||7|| ਜਿਨਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਧਾਰਿਆ ਸਭਸੈ ਦੇਇ ਆਧਾਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥ He who created the creation and sustains it, gives sustenance to all. ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥ How can you forget Him from your mind? He is the Great Giver, forever and ever. ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਨਿਧਾਰਾ ਆਧਾਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੮॥੧॥੨॥ Nanak shall never forget the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the Support of the unsupported. ||8||1||2|| Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Raag Soohee - 751

By The Grace Of The True Guru: ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਣ ਲਾਗੇ ॥ gobi(n)dh gun gaavan laage || I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗੇ ॥ har ra(n)g anadhin jaage || I am awake, night and day, in the Lord's Love. ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਜਾਗੇ ਪਾਪ ਭਾਗੇ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ॥ har ra(n)g jaage paap bhaage mile sa(n)t piaariaa || Awake to the Lord's Love, my sins have left me. I meet with the Beloved Saints. ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਲਾਗੇ ਭਰਮ ਭਾਗੇ ਕਾਜ ਸਗਲ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥ gur charan laage bharam bhaage kaaj sagal savaariaa || Attached to the Guru's Feet, my doubts are dispelled, and all my affairs are resolved. ਸੁਣਿ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਹਜਿ ਜਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਵਡਭਾਗੈ ॥ sun sravan baanee sahaj jaanee har naam jap vaddabhaagai || Listening to the Word of the Guru's Bani with my ears, I know celestial peace. By great good fortune, I meditate on the Lord's Name. ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਗੈ ॥੧॥ binava(n)t naanak saran suaamee jeeau pi(n)dd prabh aagai ||1|| Prays Nanak, I have entered my Lord and Master's Sanctuary. I dedicate my body and soul to God. ||1|| ਅਨਹਤ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਾ ॥ anahat sabadh suhaavaa || The unstruck melody of the Shabad, the Word of God is so very beautiful. ਸਚੁ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵਾ ॥ sach ma(n)gal har jas gaavaa || True joy comes from singing the Lord's Praises. ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਖ ਨਾਸੇ ਰਹਸੁ ਉਪਜੈ ਮਨਿ ਘਣਾ ॥ gun gai har har dhookh naase rahas aupajai man ghanaa || Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har, pain is dispelled, and my mind is filled with tremendous joy. ਮਨੁ ਤੰਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਭਣਾ ॥ man ta(n)n niramal dhekh dharasan naam prabh kaa mukh bhanaa || My mind and body have become immaculate and pure, gazing upon the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan; I chant the Name of God. ਹੋਇ ਰੇਣ ਸਾਧੂ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਰਾਧੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵਾ ॥ hoi ren saadhoo prabh araadhoo aapane prabh bhaavaa || I am the dust of the feet of the Holy. Worshipping God in adoration, my God is pleased with me. ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਹੁ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ॥੨॥ binava(n)t naanak dhiaa dhaarahu sadhaa har gun gaavaa ||2|| Prays Nanak, please bless me with Your Mercy, that I may sing Your Glorious Praises forever. ||2|| ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਿਆ ॥ gur mil saagar tariaa || Meeting with the Guru, I cross over the world-ocean. ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਜਪਤ ਨਿਸਤਰਿਆ ॥ har charan japat nisatariaa || Meditating on the Lord's Feet, I am emancipated. ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਧਿਆਏ ਸਭਿ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ਮਿਟੇ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ॥ har charan dhiaae sabh fal paae miTe aavan jaanaa || Meditating on the Lord's Feet, I have obtained the fruits of all rewards, and my comings and goings have ceased. ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵਾ ॥ bhai bhagat subhai har jap aapane prabh bhaavaa || With loving devotional worship, I meditate intuitively on the Lord, and my God is pleased. ਜਪਿ ਏਕੁ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰ ਪੂਰਨ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਈ ॥ Meditate on the One, Unseen, Infinite, Perfect Lord; there is no other than Him. ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਖੋਇਆ ਜਤ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਤ ਸੋਈ ॥੩॥ Prays Nanak, the Guru has erased my doubts; wherever I look, there I see Him. ||3|| ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥ The Lord's Name is the Purifier of sinners. ਪੂਰਨ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੇ ਕਾਮਾ ॥ It resolves the affairs of the humble Saints. ਗੁਰੁ ਸੰਤੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਸਗਲ ਇਛਾ ਪੁੰਨੀਆ ॥ I have found the Saintly Guru, meditating on God. All my desires have been fulfilled. ਹਉ ਤਾਪ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਰਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲੇ ਚਿਰੀ ਵਿਛੁੰਨਿਆ ॥ The fever of egotism has been dispelled, and I am always happy. I have met God, from whom I was separated for so long. ਮਨਿ ਸਾਤਿ ਆਈ ਵਜੀ ਵਧਾਈ ਮਨਹੁ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ॥ My mind has found peace and tranquility; congratulations are pouring in.     ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ॥ bilaaval || Bilaaval: ਬਿਦਿਆ ਨ ਪਰਉ ਬਾਦੁ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨਉ ॥ bidhiaa na parau baadh nahee jaanau || (ਬਹਿਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਮੈਂ (ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਬਹਿਸਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ) ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ, ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ (ਧਾਰਮਿਕ) ਬਹਿਸਾਂ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ (ਭਾਵ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਦਵਤਾ-ਭਰੀ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਚਰਚਾ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ) । I do not read books of knowledge, and I do not understand the debates. ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਕਥਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਬਉਰਾਨੋ ॥੧॥ har gun kathat sunat bauraano ||1|| ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।੧। I have gone insane, chanting and hearing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1|| ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਮੈ ਬਉਰਾ ਸਭ ਖਲਕ ਸੈਆਨੀ ਮੈ ਬਉਰਾ ॥ mere baabaa mai bauraa sabh khalak saiaanee mai bauraa || ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੱਜਣ! (ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਣੇ) ਮੈਂ ਕਮਲਾ ਹਾਂ । ਲੋਕ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਕਮਲਾ ਹਾਂ । O my father, I have gone insane; the whole world is sane, and I am insane. ਮੈ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ਬਿਗਰੈ ਮਤਿ ਅਉਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ mai bigario bigarai mat aauraa ||1|| rahaau || (ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਵਿਚ) ਮੈਂ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ), (ਪਰ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਣ, ਇਸ) ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹ ਪਏ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ। I am spoiled; let no one else be spoiled like me. ||1||Pause|| ਆਪਿ ਨ ਬਉਰਾ ਰਾਮ ਕੀਓ ਬਉਰਾ ॥ aap na bauraa raam keeo bauraa || ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ) ਕਮਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਿਆ, ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ) ਕਮਲਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, I have not made myself go insane - the Lord made me go insane. ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜਾਰਿ ਗਇਓ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਮੋਰਾ ॥੨॥ satigur jaar gio bhram moraa ||2|| ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਭਰਮ-ਵਹਿਮ ਸਭ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ।੨। The True Guru has burnt away my doubt. ||2|| ਮੈ ਬਿਗਰੇ ਅਪਨੀ ਮਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥ mai bigare apanee mat khoiee || (ਜੇ) ਮੈਂ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਏ ਹੋਏ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਕਲ ਗੁਆ ਲਈ ਹੈ (ਤਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਲਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਤਨਾ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੈ?) I am spoiled; I have lost my intellect. ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੂਲਉ ਮਤਿ ਕੋਈ ॥੩॥ mere bharam bhoolau mat koiee ||3|| ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਧਿਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਇਸ ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚ ਬੇਸ਼ਕ ਨਾਹ ਪਏ ।੩। Let no one go astray in doubt like me. ||3|| ਸੋ ਬਉਰਾ ਜੋ ਆਪੁ ਨ ਪਛਾਨੈ ॥ so bauraa jo aap na pachhaanai || (ਪਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਭੁਲੇਖਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਝੱਲਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਝੱਲਾ ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਸਲੇ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ । He alone is insane, who does not understand himself. ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਨੈ ਤ ਏਕੈ ਜਾਨੈ ॥੪॥ aap pachhaanai ta ekai jaanai ||4|| ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ।੪। When he understands himself, then he knows the One Lord. ||4|| ਅਬਹਿ ਨ ਮਾਤਾ ਸੁ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਮਾਤਾ ॥ abeh na maataa su kabahu na maataa || ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ—ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀਜ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਮਤਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਦਾ One who is not intoxicated with the Lord now, shall never be intoxicated. ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਰਾਮੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੫॥੨॥ keh kabeer raamai ra(n)g raataa ||5||2|| ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਨਾ (ਤੇ, ਉਹ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਜਾਈਂ ਗੰਵਾ ਜਾਇਗਾ) ।੫।੨। Says Kabeer, I am imbued with the Lord's Love. ||5||2|| Bhagat Kabeer Ji in Raag Bilaaval - 855

By The Grace Of The True Guru: ਮੰਗਲ ਸਾਜੁ ਭਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਗਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ ma(n)gal saaj bhiaa prabh apanaa gaiaa raam || The time of rejoicing has come; I sing of my Lord God. ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਵਰੁ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਉਪਜਿਆ ਚਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ abinaasee var suniaa man aupajiaa chaiaa raam || I have heard of my Imperishable Husband Lord, and happiness fills my mind. ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗੈ ਕਬ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਤੇ ॥ man preet laagai vaddai bhaagai kab mileeaai pooran pate || My mind is in love with Him; when shall I realize my great good fortune, and meet with my Perfect Husband? ਸਹਜੇ ਸਮਾਈਐ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਦੇਹੁ ਸਖੀਏ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਤੇ ॥ sahaje samaieeaai govi(n)dh paieeaai dheh sakhe'ee moh mate || If only I could meet the Lord of the Universe, and be automatically absorbed into Him; tell me how, O my companions! ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਠਾਢੀ ਕਰਉ ਸੇਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਵਨ ਜੁਗਤੀ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ dhin rain ttaaddee karau sevaa prabh kavan jugatee paiaa || Day and night, I stand and serve my God; how can I attain Him? ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਲੈਹੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ binava(n)t naanak karahu kirapaa laih moh laR laiaa ||1|| Prays Nanak, have mercy on me, and attach me to the hem of Your robe, O Lord. ||1|| ਭਇਆ ਸਮਾਹੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਤਨੁ ਵਿਸਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ bhiaa samaahaRaa har ratan visaahaa raam || Joy has come! I have purchased the jewel of the Lord. ਖੋਜੀ ਖੋਜਿ ਲਧਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਪਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ khojee khoj ladhaa har sa(n)tan paahaa raam || Searching, the seeker has found the Lord with the Saints. ਮਿਲੇ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰੇ ਕਥਹਿ ਅਕਥ ਬੀਚਾਰੋ ॥ mile sa(n)t piaare dhiaa dhaare katheh akath beechaaro || I have met the Beloved Saints, and they have blessed me with their kindness; I contemplate the Unspoken Speech of the Lord. ਇਕ ਚਿਤਿ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਲਾਇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੋ ॥ eik chit ik man dhiaai suaamee lai preet piaaro || With my consciousness centered, and my mind one-pointed, I meditate on my Lord and Master, with love and affection. ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਹਿ ਕਰਿ ਬਿਨੰਤੀ ਮਿਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਲਾਹਾ ॥ kar joR prabh peh kar bina(n)tee milai har jas laahaa || With my palms pressed together, I pray unto God, to bless me with the profit of the Lord's Praise. ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹਾ ॥੨॥ Prays Nanak, I am Your slave. My God is inaccessible and unfathomable. ||2|| ਸਾਹਾ ਅਟਲੁ ਗਣਿਆ ਪੂਰਨ ਸੰਜੋਗੋ ਰਾਮ ॥ The date for my wedding is set, and cannot be changed; my union with the Lord is perfect. ਸੁਖਹ ਸਮੂਹ ਭਇਆ ਗਇਆ ਵਿਜੋਗੋ ਰਾਮ ॥ I am totally at peace, and my separation from Him has ended. ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਤ ਆਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਿਆਏ ਬਣੇ ਅਚਰਜ ਜਾਞੀਆਂ ॥ The Saints meet and come together, and meditate on God; they form a wondrous wedding party. ਮਿਲਿ ਇਕਤ੍ਰ ਹੋਏ ਸਹਜਿ ਢੋਏ ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਉਪਜੀ ਮਾਞੀਆ ॥ Gathering together, they arrive with poise and grace, and love fills the minds of the bride's family. ਮਿਲਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਜੋਤੀ ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਭਿ ਰਸ ਭੋਗੋ ॥ Her light blends with His Light, through and through, and everyone enjoys the Nectar of the Lord's Name. ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭ ਸੰਤਿ ਮੇਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਜੋਗੋ ॥੩॥ Prays Nanak, the Saints have totally united me with God, the All-powerful Cause of causes. ||3|| ਭਵਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਵੜਾ ਧਰਤਿ ਸਭਾਗੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ Beautiful is my home, and beauteous is the earth. ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਅੜਾ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ God has entered the home of my heart; I touch the Guru's feet. ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਲਾਗੀ ਸਹਜਿ ਜਾਗੀ ਸਗਲ ਇਛਾ ਪੁੰਨੀਆ ॥ Grasping the Guru's feet, I awake in peace and poise. All my desires are fulfilled. ਮੇਰੀ ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਸੰਤ ਧੂਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਕੰਤ ਵਿਛੁੰਨਿਆ ॥ My hopes are fulfilled, through the dust of the feet of the Saints. After such a long separation, I have met my Husband Lord. ਆਨੰਦ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਵਜਹਿ ਵਾਜੇ ਅਹੰ ਮਤਿ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਤਿਆਗੀ ॥ Night and day, the sounds of ecstasy resound and resonate; I have forsaken my stubborn-minded intellect. ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥੪॥੧॥ Prays Nanak, I seek the Sanctuary of my Lord and Master; in the Society of the Saints, I am lovingly attuned to Him. ||4||1|| Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Raag Bilaaval - 845,846
