Nigel’s life changed forever on December 27th, during a speedway race on Mablethorpe Beach. What should have been a standard post-Christmas race ended in a horrific high-speed crash that left Nigel in a coma with a Diffuse Axonal Injury (DAI)—a brain injury so severe that doctors told his wife, Julie, he would likely not survive, or would remain in a persistent vegetative state. In this episode, we discuss: The Crash: The moment Nigel’s speedway bike went straight into a concrete wall at full throttle.The "Room of Doom": The devastating prognosis Nigel’s family faced and the decision to keep him on life support.A True Miracle: Nigel’s journey from a 0% chance of recovery to sitting up in a hospital bed just 11 days later.The Aftermath: The immense mental toll the accident took on his wife, Julie, and how their lives were turned upside down in a matter of days.Nigel is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the "never give up" attitude of the racing community.
