    Dr. Jim: The Righteousness God Blesses

    As America marks its 250th birthday, Dr. Jim points us back to the timeless truth of Proverbs 14:34: “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” While there is much to thank God for in America’s history, the need of the hour is not merely more patriotism or outward morality, but the kind of righteousness God actually blesses. In this episode, Dr. Jim explains the difference between self-dependent righteousness and God-dependent righteousness. Our own righteousness cannot please God, because it comes from the flesh and always falls short. But when believers walk by faith, depending on Christ for cleansing, victory, holiness, and obedience, God produces in them a supernatural righteousness that brings Him glory. At the same time, he points honestly to the moral and spiritual decline that has brought reproach upon the country. A surrendered minority, walking with God and depending on Christ, can be used by Him to bring blessing and revival.
