https://shop.ukcolumn.org/product/the-column-issue-1/ Mike Robinson is joined by Vanessa Beeley and, for her first appearance on UK Column, Myriam Charabaty. The discussion ranges across Iran, Lebanon, and the wider region, beginning with the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and Donald Trump's increasingly erratic statements on Iran. Both guests argue that the so-called ceasefires with Iran and Lebanon are not ceasefires at all, but operational pauses used by the United States and Israel to regroup after failing to achieve their stated military objectives. Myriam sets out why a second round of confrontation is likely to be heavier than the first, including the possible use of tactical or biological weapons on a limited scale, while ruling out any meaningful ground invasion of Iran itself. The conversation also covers Iran's continued drone production, the attrition facing US forces across the region, the political pressures on Lebanon's government over normalisation with Israel, and the positioning of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, the UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain as the conflict develops. Vanessa and Myriam argue that the survival of the resistance axis is itself the measure of victory, and that American power in West Asia is now visibly failing.

From Powell to Palantir: How Oligarchs Captured America (And What Comes Next) | Silk and Steel ► Subscribe to the UK Column YouTube channel ► https://bit.ly/ukcolumnofficial In this wide-ranging episode of The Silk and Steel Podcast, host Carl Zha is joined once again by Einar Tangen (Senior Fellow at CIGI) to dissect the latest "assassination attempt" on Donald Trump, the coordinated MAGA influencer machine, and the deeper forces that have captured American democracy. The conversation covers: • The assassination that nobody believes – social media reaction, the coordinated messaging, and why Trump's "ballroom" became a meme • How the MAGA influencer network works – talking points distributed instantly, access traded for loyalty • The corporatization of politics – why elected officials no longer think for themselves • The Powell Memo (1971) – the blueprint for corporate capture of the US government (and how it succeeded) • The "Clean Break" plan (1996) – Israel's 30-year strategy to dominate the Middle East • The Pentagon's missing trillions – why it still can't pass an audit after 10+ years • The Westphalian solution – "you be you, I'll be me" – how the world can force peace • Why JD Vance is "scary" – what the tech oligarchs (Peter Thiel, Curtis Yarvin) really want Plus: The difference between old oligarchs (steel, oil, rail) and new oligarchs (Silicon Valley), why the Democrats became the party of corporatists under Clinton, and how 95% of the world could economically force the US to end its wars. Martin Armstrong on where the world is heading | Jerm Warfare

Martin Armstrong on where the world is heading | Jerm Warfare ► Subscribe to the UK Column YouTube channel ► https://bit.ly/ukcolumnofficial We’re bombarded with narratives and lies—Winston Churchill once said, "In time of war, truth is so precious that it needs a bodyguard of lies to protect it." But are we really winning or just spinning in circles? The truth is, many leaders don’t have a plan beyond their immediate goals. Look at the repeated failures in foreign policy and military decisions. Each conflict seems to lead us deeper into chaos rather than resolution. As we stand at a crossroads with looming crises, the question remains: how do we navigate this? Maybe the real lesson is in understanding the game we’re all part of. https://www.armstrongeconomics.com ► Join UK Column Live every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1pm UK time or watch previous live recordings here: https://bit.ly/UKColumn_Live ► [UK Column Website] Explore all our written and video content on the official UK Column website: https://www.ukcolumn.org/ ► [Support UK Column] Please donate to support our independent journalism & investigative journalism: https://support.ukcolumn.org/ ► [UK Column YouTube] Please subscribe to the UK Column News YouTube channel for more alternative news and independent news: https://bit.ly/ukcolumnofficial Follow #UKColumn on: ► X: https://x.com/ukcolumn ► Telegram: https://t.me/ukcolumn ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/UKColumnExtracts ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/uk_column_news

Switch the Stories To Find the Truth — with Katharine Gun | UK Column Interviews

Switch the Stories To Find the Truth — with Katharine Gun | UK Column Interviews ► Subscribe to the UK Column YouTube channel ► https://bit.ly/ukcolumnofficial As explained in the notes for UK Column’s January 2025 interview with Katharine, entitled ‘A Defence of Necessity: Breaking the Official Secrets Act’, whilst working as a translator for the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) in 2003, Katharine Gun received an email which directed British intelligence to spy on foreign governments for American interests. Acting in accordance with her conscience, Katharine took a copy of the email, which was subsequently printed by The Observer, leading to her arrest. The criminal justice system took over a year to bring Katharine to trial: an exhibition in lawfare. Katharine Gun’s breach of the Official Secrets Act exposed the scale of the corruptions involved in scheming a military operation in Iraq, as well as laying bare the innate prejudice of the legislation itself. These events, leading up to her trial in 2004, were portrayed in the 2019 film Official Secrets, which starred Keira Knightley as Katharine. In this new interview, Professor Diane Rasmussen spoke with Katharine about her views on a range of topics beyond her 2003-2004 experience, including her new article, ‘Fabricating the Case for War in the 21st Century’, which appears in Issue 1 of UK Column’s magazine, The Column. This excellent article uncovers Katharine’s work on the patterns underlying official narratives, moving through time from 9/11 to the current situation in Iran, and the inversions behind the lies that have been used to support regime change in many countries over the past 25 years. Katharine shared the infuriating story of what happened to her and her 17-year-old daughter at the end of a Jet2 flight from Türkiye to the UK earlier in 2026, and the outrageous accusations made against her. Diane and Katharine discussed topics of cultural relevance that they have explored over long chats over coffee in the past several months, including the indoctrination of Western children through inappropriate sexual education, the profit motives behind the climate change scam, and more. Despite the serious implications of these topics, Diane and Katharine’s discussion demonstrates that exploring ideas with like-minded individuals can lead to an uplifting shared experience in these dark times. All it takes is a cup of tea or coffee and some unrushed time. Katharine runs a channel on Telegram, and she is involved with the development of the Institute for the Public Interest. Viewers are encouraged to watch her outstanding talk given at UK Column’s ‘On Location’ event in Cheltenham last year.
