    John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023)

    Yeah, we're thinking #KeanuClub is back! John Wick: Chapter 4 is in theaters now, so we had to check into the Continental to talk about it. We talk about the new characters (with a very special shoutout to Rina Sawayama, and a maybe less special shoutout to Bill Skarsgard), the extended runtime, and whether or not there's still more story left to tell for John Wick. Joey questions Mike's Letterboxd rating of John Wick: Chapter 4. We take a look ahead at the upcoming spinoffs as we also break down the films in the Keanussaince, both looking back and looking ahead, as we run through the films Keanu has made since the first John Wick and look ahead to see what's on the horizon.

    DC League of Super-Pets (2022)

    This one kind of snuck up on us! We're back with a brand new #KeanuClub about DC League of Super-Pets, in theaters now! While Keanu isn't the lead in this movie, his role as Batman is helping us build out our network of animated DC superheroes, as we can now pair him with Nicolas Cage as Superman in Teen Titans Go! To the Movies. In this episode, we talk about how DC League of Super-Pets allows itself to be a little silly (and why it's able to do things the DCEU could never even think about doing), how well the tone works overall, and what a possible spin-off or sequel could look like. We also talk about Keanu's portrayal of Batman, the immense cast of voice talent on display, and the wild post-credits scene. Plus, we look ahead to Keanu's upcoming projects.

    The Matrix Resurrections (2021)

    Can you believe it? After all this time... back to #KeanuClub! We welcome back John Brooks (Hard to Believe) to possibly, maybe, once again close out the Matrix franchise with The Matrix Resurrections. Releasing both in theaters and on HBO Max, The Matrix Resurrections is either the best or the worst movie of the year, depending on who you ask. If you ask us -- and we sure hope that you do -- we fall into the former category. In this episode, we talk about our favorite moments in The Matrix Resurrections; all of the new, returning, and remixed characters and roles; and the themes that pop up in this movie (and in the Wachowskis' filmography as a whole). If you don't want to get exiled like the Merovingian, make sure you listen to our episode and then go watch the movie again!

    Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020)

    This calendar year may be an irredeemable trash fire, but a few bright lines shine through, including the totally [air guitar] Bill & Ted Face the Music! It's been nearly a year since our last #KeanuClub episode -- and nearly 30 years since the last time we saw Bill S. Preston, Esq. (Alex Winter) and Ted "Theodore" Logan -- but we're back in the saddle and read to save the world once and for all! In this episode, we talk about the way Bill & Ted Face the Music recaps, sets up, and sends off the franchise; the perfect additions to the cast (including Samara Weaving, Brigette Lundy-Paine, Erinn Hayes, Jayma Mays, and Anthony Carrigan); and the totally non-non-non-bogus (and positively joyous) ending. The #KeanuClub feed may be dark for a while as Keanu Reeves gears up for the fourth installments of John Wick and The Matrix, but join us for one more excellent adventure!

    081 Toy Story 4 (2019)

    Look who jumped 40 school buses and landed back in my life! The Year of Keanu continues (and concludes?) with the first Pixar film ever covered by our network: Toy Story 4! We're saving our deep dive on the Toy Story movies (and the franchise as a whole) for our episodes over on #HANX for the Memories, but we're taking a deep dive into all things Duke Caboom, because he's the Canuck with all the luck! In this episode, we wonder when the toys gain sentience, mourn the saddest Boxing Day ever, and wonder if Duke and Bo Peep ever dated. We also remember disappointing toys from our childhood, talk about the staggeringly gorgeous animation, and talk about whether or not Toy Story 4 marks the end of the franchise.

    080 John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)

    "If you want peace, prepare for war." After three John Wick movies (and at least one more to come), I think John Wick is owed peace... but that time isn't here yet. To talk about the newest installment in the franchise, John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, we welcome back our John Wick expert, Mike Flynn, to talk about all of the best fighting scenes, how the story fits into the character's overall narrative, and where the franchise could go from here. We also wonder whether or not the world is getting too big, and what steps could be taken to rein things in a bit and focus more on Keanu's character. Also, we talk about Jason Mantzoukas as The Tick Tock Man a lot, because he is the best. There's no time to dilly dally... the episode about John Wick: Chapter 3 is here!

    The Year of Keanu keeps on rolling with a surprise cameo appearance in the Scott Aukerman film Between Two Ferns: The Movie! Keanu is only on screen for a few minutes, so this is a bit of a bonus episode while you wait for this week's full episode about John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum to drop, but that doesn't mean we're not here to gush about how much we loved it.

    The year of Keanu continues! While we wait for John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum to hit VOD, we’re taking a delightful detour to talk about the Netflix original Always Be My Maybe. To celebrate the occasion, we welcome in Kate Hudson of Pajiba to discuss one of the finest glorified cameo roles you’ll ever see in a movie. In this episode, we talk about how much we enjoyed the movie, compare it to a movie we’ll cover shortly on #WatchTheTheron, and wonder how any guy could ever hope to stack up to Keanu Reeves when vying for the affection of a former flame.
