    Chapter 13: The Library

    “We get what we give and we lose what we hoard.” The Keeper introduces us to the Librarian -  Dr Dilectius Morio: the folklore pharmacist with a prescription for the perfect book for each person he meets (to be taken in tandem with the medicines of your own physician, to be sure!) He tells us the tale of Anansi the Spider who set off to collect all the stories for himself and accidentally gifted them to the world instead.  He reminds us of the healing to be found within stories and the medicine they provide the world.     Chapter 12: The Back Porch

    “A vessel can still be worthy of water, even when it’s not perfect.” A bit of spring cleaning.  We find the Inn being turned upside down with furniture being moved and corners cleaned.  We meet Haru, a traveler wearing an odd hat and carrying an odder tale.  We are reminded to respect nature and its tricksters, that drunken boasting has little place in the wilder parts of the world, and that jumping to conclusions can be disastrous for one’s hair when dealing with foxes. We wiggle our toes and watch the fireflies dance by the back porch, out of the way of the hustle and bustle inside.     Chapter 9: The Stables

    “Home is a place that you choose where you are chosen.”  A picturesque spring sunset at the Inn. The Keeper leads us to the warm barn to help Eliza the Stablemaster feed and care for the animals they keep at the Inn. Eliza tells us the story of her six siblings and herself - how they were turned to swans and how she worked over the years to free them. The home they’ve found in the Inn.     Chapter 8: The Solarium

    " Always remember where your true armor lies- in the relationships you forge and the love you invest in others." Aidyn The Gardener…………Krystle Delihue Gregory the Gargoyle …………Jonathan Jones The Keeper…………Luna Alexander We come to the Inn on a cold foggy day. The Keeper has us join Dr Aidyn Swankin, the Gardener in the Solarium where she is adjusting many pots for overwintering. We are sent on the task of watering the moonflower in the heart of the warm tropical room.. We take a rest beside a gargoyle in the center of the tropical room, named Greg, who tells us the story of how Mackinaw Island was formed when Mikinaak the snapping turtle waged war on the Anishinaabeg people. He reminds us that armor is often a hollow shell and that our strength lies in the friends and communities we build around us. This episode is dedicated to the Niswimishkodewinan, the People of the Three Fires Confederacy: the Ojibwe, Odawa & Potawatomi Nations and for Chris who first gave me seeds for the Moonflower: fingers crossed they grow beautiful & strong this year!
