Join us for Trendy Live to make sense of the local election results

Join us for Trendy Live to make sense of the local election results

Tortoise is hosting a special live edition of Trendy on Wednesday 8th May.
Join hosts John Curtice and Rachel Wolf in the Tortoise newsroom for this special live recording of the podcast to make sense of the local elections being held on May 2nd in England and Wales. Most of the elections are for positions last contested in 2021. At that time Boris Johnson’s government was still enjoying a bounce in the polls thanks to the roll out of the COVID vaccines. Fast forward three years and the country is now seemingly in a very different political place.

But do the results of the local elections confirm or contradict the message of the polls? Where did the parties do better – and where less well? What might it tell us about the general election later this year? What lessons are there for the politicians – and will they take any notice?
John and Rachel will be answering these questions and any more that you may have - so sign up now!
You can book your place here.
