Comfort in Close Reading

Scott Newling
Comfort in Close Reading

The French called it 'explication de texte': closely observing the what, why, and how of a text as established by the text itself. This is no mere 'arid rationalism'! If God is love (and he is) and if God cares for his people (and he does) then as we delve into his word the trajectory of close reading is nothing less than a life-giving pastoral encounter with the true and faithful shepherd of the sheep. The preaching in this podcast seeks to emulate this truth. As part of the www.scriptorium.net.au repository, it does so conscious of the truth of its tagline: "now, dimly; then: face-to-face".
