Follow the show: A Better Way to Money Most people dealing with debt don’t talk about it. They rationalize, minimize, or wait for a “better time” that never seems to arrive. Lynnette Khalfani-Cox did the same—reporting on personal finance for a living the whole time—before she confronted it, paid it all off, and built the kind of financial stability she now helps others find. Host Jennifer Borget sits down with  New York Times bestselling author of Bounce Back: The Ultimate Guide to Financial Resilience to explain how anyone can recover from a financial curveball. Lynnette shares how debt creeps in and takes over, why the standard advice doesn’t always work, what it takes to get out, and ways to build a better financial future. I Am Not My Hair… But She's Still Gotta Be Fly | Natural Hair & Beauty After 50

Tell the truth and shame the devil: KC Sonshine has been natural since 1998 — and still hasn't worn her own hair out in years. You can be more than your hair and still want it to be fly. Between braids, weaves, wigs and "anything that starts with a W," protective styling was supposed to protect the hair. But what happens when the style becomes permanent — and the creamy crack starts whispering your name again? In this funny, unfiltered episode of 50ish & Fab, KC confronts the complicated relationship between Black women, natural hair, aging, and beauty after 50 — including research raising serious questions about chemical straighteners and hormone-related cancers. NIH's Sister Study found women who used hair straighteners frequently had roughly double the uterine cancer risk, and about 60% of the straightener users studied were Black women. Source: nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/hair-straightening-chemicals-associated-higher-uterine-cancer-risk Then it's the tips nobody hands you at 50: a DIY avocado-olive oil-honey hair mask, a castor-peppermint scalp massage oil, why your skin needs daily sunscreen and retinol done right, and the vitamin D deficiency so many Black adults over 50 don't know they have. Expect honest confessions and practical wisdom, plus one very important reminder: "I am not my hair" does not mean she can come outside looking any kind of way. Press play, then tell us in the comments: what's one beauty rule you're finally ready to break after 50? And tag the sister who already knows exactly which side of team-wash-and-go vs. team-protective-style-forever she's on. Subscribe to 50ish & Fab for real conversations about beauty, confidence, and thriving after 50 — and leave a quick rating, it's how new listeners find us. Then catch producer Roger on Brunch, Blaze & Babble, and get your reset with Moment Before Monday before next week starts making demands. Because we're not winding down. We're leveling up. #50ishAndFab #IAmNotMyHair #NaturalHairAfter50 #BlackWomenAndHair #ProtectiveStyles #CreamyCrack #BeautyAfter50 #HairCareAfter50 #SkincareAfter50 #ConfidenceAfter50 #WomenOver50 #KCSonshine
