A Chapter a Day Bible Reading Rev Sean Conry

A simple idea... reading a chapter of the bible each day. Who knew the transformational power of such a small habit?! Join Sean each day as he reads through the books of the bible, from both the Old and New Testament, one chapter at a time. You’ll hear God’s word and share a prayer, to keep you going through your day...
Rev Sean Conry has worked among other things as a psychologist and in church ministry, but these days you’ll find him leading a team of hospital pastoral care practitioners in southern Tasmania and caring for soldiers as an Army Chaplain... and of course... reading his bible.

Travels
On the other side of the world on holiday yet can still be part of A Chapter Day community. And why not! God is over the whole world.
What a blessing!
Whenever I listen to the day’s episode, morning, afternoon, evening, or sometimes just as I’m about to go to bed, the words of the Bible being read to me really feel like they are being read to me.
He’s not a David Suchet (the English actor) and he doesn’t pretend to be. But in so many ways, I prefer this reader over Suchet. Someone suggested to me that it’s because this man is an Australian and the accent is close to home. (I’m also an Australian.) That’s possible, but if it’s right, I don’t think that it’s the whole reason. This reader is better than Suchet at times in picking up the meaning of the passage behind the words. And that makes a huge difference to the reading.
Then there are the short comments. Sometimes at the beginning of the reading and sometimes at the end. Short. Relatable. Punchy, but never offensive. Humble.
Finally ending with a short prayer. Again, related to the the chapter which has been read and relatable to the listener. And prayed with humility.
All through this review, you might have noticed that I haven’t mentioned the reader’s name. It isn’t because I don’t know it. He says it in every episode. I just don’t know if he’s a Sean or a Shaun. I’m fairly certain that he’s not shorn.
Wonderful
A wonderful way to start my day. I appreciate the little snippets of information and always the prayer to conclude each reading.
