Australian artists call to scrap AI data mining proposal

Local artists, authors, and creatives are gathering at Parliament House today to speak out about the impact of artificial intelligence.

A public hearing is being held into the renewal of the government's National Cultural Policy — a five-year plan to revive Australia's arts, entertainment and cultural sectors. It comes a month after the Productivity Commission's proposal to permit tech companies to use copyrighted work of Australian artists to train AI.
