Here’s the problem with being a human, we all have feelings, and big emotions, as well as small emotions—and most of us have no idea what to do with them! If you’re like me, you were raised by the baby boomer generation, who was taught that you shut down those feelings and shut up about them, and that didn’t really work, did it?
Luckily, Alyssa has a fantastic new book that is going to help us not only learn how to understand and regulate our own emotions, but help us do that with the next generation as well! It’s called “Tiny Humans Big Emotions!”

The woman who pulled me into the light
I found Alison when I was going through my divorce in 2019. A reel of this exuberant blonde in a golden yellow top popped up in my feed and I knew I had to see more of her. I immediately began listening to the podcast with my children in our new little rental house, showing them videos of her dancing and smiling. They loved her as much as me. I listened as I built our new furniture, when I was crying feeling like my life had fallen apart. Her vulnerability sharing her own struggles with injury and mental health showed me that it is possible to be a light and also to have darkness, in fact it is those who shine brightest that often have the deepest depths to be pulled from - the “mucky muck” as she puts it. Alison has shown me you can be all versions of yourself at once, and also only be what you and those you love need in that moment if that is all you can muster. And that you deserve love even and especially in those moments. Her desire to love on everyone, to lift everyone, is truly something I have aspired to and create this new and beautiful chapter of my life. 4+ years later and I am still listening. The message is always something I need to hear. I truly deeply love her. And Eric too.

I got to know your How to Be Awesome series on youtube through friend’s recommendation and from there I followed you on Instagram and found this podcast. The first episode listened to was episode 24 which I finished just now. When I said out loud “I love my life” as part of the practice, I kid you not I started to break down into tears (of gratitude), something inside me has changed.
